How? LSU currently has 7 DL players on NFL rosters. Bama has 6. FSU has 5. And that's not counting Upshaw because he is a hybrid guy.

    I'd say LSU and Bama

    Ricky Jean Francois
    Kyle Williams
    Tyson JAckson
    Marcus Spears
    Glenn Dorsey
    Michael Brockers
    Kendrick Adams
    Lazarius Levingston
    Drake Nevis
    Al Woods

That's more than 7... Add in Mingo, Montgomery, Lavar Edwards and Bennie Logan will be drafted this draft.. So you can add 4 more... Then you have Anthony "The Freak" Johnson, Ego Ferguson, Rasco and Danielle Hunter the following years.

Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.

  • Good research Steve, thanks for the info.

    To all the complainers ITT,
    a) the parameters were clearly stated as drafted 3rd round or higher over the last 15 years;
    b) if you don't like those parameters, instead of whining about it, make yourself useful and contribute something by researching the topic the way you want, then share it with the board you phackin low life SanduskDee faces.

  • Hopefully for UNC under Fedora, it can regain great D-Line production and talent.

You should use All-Pro selections as your criteria.

Why would he use ALL-PRO as his criteria?

It's which SCHOOL has developed the talent (that got DRAFTED), not which player from X school went to the NFL (drafted or not) and developed into a all-pro.

    It's two different situations.

PSU is for sure near the top. They have the numbers and the quality. No school has a better tandem than Tamba Hali and Cameron Wake.

Gotta like how Nebraska is in the top 10. No matter whether they have a great season or not, they turn out the talent.

It depends I guess If you are simply talking the draft or ...

talking about the front line in college football that has been the hardest to run against as a unit over the past five years. cool

Has more to do with 4 huge LB's imo than 3 DL

FSU's DL was better than Bama's this past season, and will be better again next year

FSU just has better talent in the trenches

If I was starting a team today, I would take Jernigan, Edwards, Casher, and Goldman before I took a Bama DL

is that why their D-unit had one more sack in 2012 than Bama ?
anyone can play in a traditional 43 gap scheme, it takes a man to hold his post in a 3-4.

but i do agree that having better LBers and DB's also helps the cause.

  • I'm guessing this is for recent history. I'm biased and Miami has a say in this matter. Jerome Brown, Tez, Wilfork....

    One more sack = better

Just watch son, FSU's DL will do much better in the upcoming drafts than Bama's

If Carradine and Jenkins don't get hurt you are looking at 3 DE's alone going in the first 40 picks of the NFL draft

And the kids coming up behind them are more talented

And this isn't even considering DT where FSU just owns Bama in terms of talent iyam

You guys throw some huge fat guy at 1 spot, meanwhile FSU is oozing 4 and 5 stars to the point they are 7-8 deep with dudes who can push the pile right now

Miami's DL is way to weak right now to even be considered

They have history at DL, especially DT... but right now they are just pathetic and deserve no love imo

I think you will depending on the NCAA, I would say Miami leads for both right now

Would certainly be a start to repairing that DL

Valentine is a major risk off the field though fwiw, sounds like his enrolling chances are around 30% but its still early

you mean the way we slid Jesse Williams the 325 lb slob that ran a 4.9, from DE to NT ?

  • Penn State did nothing for Cameron Wake

    How?

    Didn't say he sucked

But you have him and some other solid but not great big boys

While FSU has a whole bunch of 5 stars as well as many highly rated 4 star kids

    Jacobbi McDaniel - 5 star
    Timmy Jernigan - 5 star
    Eddie Goldman - 5 star
    Keith Bryant - 4 star
    Demonte McAllister - 4 star
Nile Lawrence Stample - 4 star
    Derrick Mitchell - 4 star
    Justin Shanks - 4 star

While Bama is good, they don't measure up talent wise imo.... FSU has more talented bodies and that was all I was saying

Cameron played LB at PSU and was constantly in Joe's dog house, so he really doesn’t fit into this discussion anyway. He did not have the work ethic that he has developed to get to and excel in the NFL. The only real thing PSU did for Cameron is that they taught him he had to work hard for what he wanted and it wasn’t just going to be given to him. Vanderlinden was his position coach not Larry Johnson.
