    Many different levels of PTSD. Some is very nominal and doesn't have a noticeable effect, some is extreme. What level should prohibit a person from owning a gun? Who evaluates a person and makes the determination?

    We are obviously talking about moderate to severe PTSD.

    Anyone can have PTSD, its not just limited to soldiers.

    A psychiatrist would obviously make the diagnosis and make the final evaluation.

    No man or woman can be sent to war unless they voluntarily join the military. So, I agree that anyone with a military ID should be able to drink at age 18.

    I am all for Underage drinking. Thins the competition for the competitive jobs with people self imposing handicaps on themselves.

    If people are so god damn stupid to harm their bodies they can IMO. I have no problem with people doing hard drugs etc. As long as drug testing is added to welfare certification and DUIs= mandatory attempted manslaughter charge I am happy. Hopefully mothers of fetal alcohol/drug syndrome get charged with murder also.

    Also did I say we turn prisons into work camps not colleges and all the murderers should be killed not given life if there is enough evidence?

    America is making way to many mistakes in our justice system and overall becoming soft, in a couple dozen years we will be like Norway. Maniacs can kill 77 kids and only get a maximum of 24 years in prison.

    But the risk with those with mental illnesses is much greater.

    It's like giving out mortgage loans to those who can't afford to pay back the loans. There's going to be a risk giving out a loan to everyone, but lenders do credit checks to make sure that individuals can pay back their loans. We saw with the housing crisis what happens when the public is at the mercy of high-risk individuals.

  • Sorry, but even though I'm not a fan of Feinstein I have to agree here. Letting someone with a serious mental illness have a gun is asking for it, veteran or no.

    Although I'm curious to know how she defines "assault weapon".

    To me it is akin to taking a gun and firing it into a crowd of people. There is a chance you will miss but you attempted it.

    Maybe the fact my Aunt was hit in college by a drunk driver and she suffered severe mental and physical handicaps where she lost 100% of her memory (she needed to relearn how to talk and even go the restroom!) and needs a care taker 20 years later makes me little bias. Especially because the person who did it only got 5 years in prison. Then he got out and had another drunken crash, expectably thankfully he only killed himself. The guy ruined her entire future and life, every single person getting behind a wheel drunk is basically setting out to do the same.

    Drinking/doing drugs is just as bad IMO. You are basically destroying someones body and mind out of selfishness. If it wasn't a fetus you would get the death penalty/life in prison for trying to do something similar to a child/adult.

    Obviously. Children/adults have legal rights. Fetuses don't. Hence, legal abortion. This isn't complicated.

    It is more than reckless endangerment IMO. It takes multiple decisions to get behind a wheel and drive that makes it more planned IMO and it should have harsher punishments for that.

    A aborted fetus never sees the life of day.
    A fetus exposed to drugs and alcohol is forced to live a entire life disfigured and with limited mental capacity.

    Not sure if sarcastic, but I wasn't saying anyone's currently being drafted and sent to war. You said "No man or woman can be sent to war unless they voluntarily join the military" and I provided an example of a method where a man could be sent to war without voluntarily joining the military.

    Would you give someone who has gone online and said they have thought about shooting up a school a gun? They haven't done anything wrong.

    Would you give someone who is a paranoid schizophrenic and is convinced the world is out to get them a gun? They also haven't done anything wrong.

    Not trying to be a dick, I just wanna know if you would draw the line on two examples of people who obviously aren't fit to carry a weapon.
