    And IMO even if it's a sexual assault case, pretty screwed up that they swept it under the rug.

    Also, as a PSU fan, the whole no witnesses thing is pretty retarded to bring up in a sexual assault case. Why would somebody commit sexual assault if somebody else was there to see it? That defies logic.

    My cousin was sexually assaulted. She was basically a shut in for a year & a half. She is still messed up a whole 6 years later. Thought she got past it after she got married, nope! She just got divorced & is in therapy. She has & still is a shell of her former self. No way she was or would have been out & about whopping it up at a tailgate. I feel for this young girl because I know & have seen first hand the fall out. The shitty part is, is that no one on here does they just use it as a bash ND topic. Like I said if you all are so outraged take it up with the Indiana St, Police & get something done instead of just sitting at a computer or smart phone whining about it.

    It was investigated by the Indiana St. Police. They found nothing. A little back round here. The young lady who took her own life had mental problems. Also she accused two different young men of the same thing in high school. The police department investigated those accusations & found nothing. They also warned her that the next time it happened she would be bought up on charges of falsifying police reports. A little bit after the alleged incident with the ND player she was photographed at a tail gate before a game looking cheerful & not like a rape victim. Now don't get me wrong this is very sad & a young life ended far too early. The poor young lady had
    some major mental issues & I hope that she is at peace.

    It would be very screwed up. & heads need to roll if that is the case. Fact is the Indiana St. Police investigated & found nothing. People don't really care about the poor girl. They just use it as a bash ND topic. I get it people hate ND. But to use this as fodder is kind of sick. If they care they should get in contact with The State Police in Indiana & push them to look into this further. But they could care less about that.

    Where any rapist or person who legitimately commits sexual assault should be.

    Everybody deals with traumatic events differently. Just because the person you know reacted that way doesn't mean another victim will too.

    Fact is, is that it was investigated. You are right though sometimes things can get blurry. No one really knows what happened there. The only people that do is the player in question & the young lady who is sadly no longer here.

One was her friend.

    He was accused of sexual assault and there was a poor investigation. However, based on the facts that have been released, there was really no evidence to go on. No marks, no witnesses. A girl and a guy in a dorm room. She accused him of forcibly touching her breast until he was interrupted by the phone and then he stopped. The phone records supported the guys story. Other than that they had nothing to go on.

  • Unfortunately, nobody truly knows what happened with Seeberg.

    However, there are multiple things that ND could do/have done about it. First of all, the police could have started on the case much sooner. IIRC, she committed suicide in the lull between when she submitted the complaint and when the police got around to asking questions about it.

    Second, ND and its fans could stop this misguided, often blatantly false, and low attempt to dishonor Seeberg. It's really sad.

    Third, the ND community could stop harrassing women who are raped. Based on what I've read, these women have been bullied for decades. A woman in 2011 supposedly had hundreds of text messages sent to her saying not to mess with ND football, and Seeberg got the same messages. ND supposedly threatened a woman in 1974 and already had a smear campaign ready for her as well. No matter what happened - how can that be an acceptable way to think and act for ND?

    Yes, I know what PSU did was awful (because apparently the best defense for ND fans is to attack the school I root for, rather than address potential concerns of their own), but whatever happened...I would hope that people would learn from it. There seems to be a culture at many schools of brushing this sort of thing under the rug, but thanks to the Seeberg case, ND is at the forefront.
