What an 8 team / 4 team playoff would look like

I'll take the 4 team playoff, because anything is better than the BCS, but IMO an 8 team playoff using the
big 4 traditional New Year's Day Bowl games as the quarter-finals would be my #1 playoff plan.
Here's how an 8 team playoff might look this year (I've killed the Nzaa, so Ohio St is off-probation ITT).
It's too bad that this will probably never happen
Sugar Bowl

#2 Alabama/Georgia winner
vs Kansas St
Orange Bowl
==========
#3 Oregon
vs Florida
Fiesta Bowl
==========
#1 Notre Dame
vs LSU
Rose Bowl
=========
#4 Ohio St

How about if the 4 team playoff was happening this year, which 4 would you pick?
I'd probably go with this

Just looking at that makes me think that conference championship games should probably be done away with within the new system. There is no advantage to them at all.
I know Alabama won the NC last year without winning the conference and I am not saying you should have to to get into the playoff. But look at that 4 team playoff and tell me who has the disadvantage. Exactly it's the two teams that would have to play into the playoff while everyone else has already secured their spot.

for starters Oregon isnt #3 their #5 (behind Florida) & Ohio St is on probation so ....
1.ND vs 4. Oregon
2.SEC CG winner vs 3. Florida

8 teams ? which i prefer as well
(after Tx beats K-St)
1. ND vs 8.TAMU
4. Oregon vs 5. Ga
*** Rnd 2 TAMU vs Ga***
2. Ala vs 7 Stanf
3. Fla vs 6. LSU
***Rnd 2 Ala vs Fla***

Even if this didn't include tOSU, I would love to watch either of these playoff options. Just good football.

an 8 team playoff would be ideal keeping the bcs system in tact (after modifying the SOS to reality) it would enhance the final few weeks of the season ten fold.
want auto-in's for Conf Champs (if ranked) & really see CFB's final month explode with intrigue ? see my Sweet 16 Bubble-Buster format (previous post).

Thats just how I would seed it, but you could just as well put Florida as the #3.
I dont really go off any of the rankings that are produced today, since most are a joke. Unfortunately, I doubt the selection committee well be much different.

I wouldn't keep the BCS model. It's only purpose is to determine the top two teams, not anything else. 3-8 or whatever would be skewed by the BCS formula.
I would love an 8 team playoff though for sure.

I would do it differently in my 8 team playoff.. I would give the #1 and #2 ranked team a first round Bye
EDIT: nvm we would play the #2 team in the 1st round.
