What are Romney and Obama's solutions to the lack of jobs?

  • I'm watching this debate (I never do so) and I'm hearing vague answers like, "I know what it takes to make jobs," and, "I'm going to manufacture jobs here in this country." What's with these answers? Are they keeping their solutions secret?

They're politicians running for president. If you listen closely, they'll do something similar with every single question. "I can do this, my opponent can't."

Call them Bert and Ernie for all I care. They have yet to actually answer anything. How on earth do you guys have arguments about who "wins" these debates? You can't "win" if both people are batting .000.

  • Certainty is the only thing that will give the people with the ability to create jobs the willingness to do so and these guys have a minimal impact on that compared to what they tell you. Right now the "job creators" are sitting on all the cash they can and will continue to do so until they see reason not to. It's uncertain if their revenue streams will stay constant or crash and if their expenses stay steady or increase.

I don't think many people in a hiring position would add extra overhead if he/she anticipated the cost of hiring said employee increasing.

There's no way they can go in any sort of depth in 2 minutes.

That is by design. Most people on BOTH sides have NO idea what the platform they support really is. They are SO frikin' blinded by their hate of the other party that they have failed to realize the fallacies of their own party.

This is politics in a nutshell. This is one of the many reasons why we need to abolish these parties and move towards a system that is proactive and not finger pointing. We know we have a screwed up system and the longer we allow these insane wealthy politicians make decisions only to promote themselves and their cronies, we will fall further and further behind as a country.

The most promising thing in this race is that Romney got SHT done when he was governor in a state with what, 87%, democrat majority in the state senate. Obama hasn't gotten anything done even in the first two years when he had super democrat majorities. Problems need to be solved and things need to get done. Obama cannot get anything done. We haven't had a budget in 4 years FFS.

  • I would much rather watch a literal boxing match between the two candidates than the bullshi* shouting match that we all had to sit through tonight.

Better yet, let Ron Paul step in and make both of these guys look like idiots simply by speaking the TRUTH. Something foreign to American politics since JFK and his younger brother were alive.

  • Ron Paul is an idiot and if he were president it would set the country back 100 years. I know his ideas seem to make a lot of sense, but there is a reason that few credible people support him.

  • Their solution is to criticize the other one and call each other liar. Then, no matter WHO gets elected, the same result will occur: nothing.

  • Ron Paul may have some outlandish views to some but he's the most consistent politician there has ever been. His voting record matches everything He's ever said. He's a Fairtax guy which I like. He wants to do away with the IRS, Department of Eduction and the Federal Reserve. All of which isn't a bad idea. He just says some crazy stuff that many Americans can't get behind. Like getting rid of the Gold Standard. That's just dumb. He is not fond of separation between Church and State. I also don't agree with his legalization of Drugs idea's either but he will tell you exactly what he thinks and will be 100% truthful. He refuses to a accept any Government Pension. He returns the money. He's a Doctor and chooses to work on patients for free rather than to accept Medicare or Medicaid. He's a good man at heart. Just a terrible ideal for President.

  • There are two synonyms for the word politician: crook and liar. These two have no answers because as long as congress is full of crooks and liars catering to special interest groups there will be no change in our country. It is amazing that members of congress make $150,000.00 a year but almost 90% of them are worth well over a million dollars. How is that possible? One word, kickbacks!!! I do not trust any politician.

I certainly agree that he is a good guy. He is sincere in his beliefs, I just don't his monetary policies (like abandoning the federal reserve) or the complete abolition of certain programs would be good for anyone.
