What city has the best HS football?

  • Just a question I've been pondering...

What city/surrounding area has the best HS football? Dallas, Miami, LA?

    Wisconsin. Badgers.

That's like asking where is the best BBQ. But, FWIW, I'd have to say Dallas with a HS that built a 60 million dollar 15,000 seat stadium and sells it out.

Yes i agree, fan dedication is the best way to determine who plays the best on the field

  • Best--DFW metroplex. I'm not sure there's a metro area that's close actually. Throw in Aledo and Denton, which stand alone to an extent, and it is absolutely unbeatable.
Underrated--DC area, especially the Catholic league.
Overrated--LA. A lot of great football, but the culture doesn't allow football to be as valuable as some other places in America.

  • The only high school football games I care about are whichever my recruits are playing in

    Status

  • Seems weird, but I am not sure that LA(city) has the most/best recruits in SoCal.... most of the studs come from the surrounding areas. Orange county... the IE.. Southern Section schools.

LA city section still produces though.

-Grayson just "mercked" Miami Central 35-3 last Friday and held them to 22 yards of total offense. Grayson was the ESPN #1 team in the nation and Miami Central was the USA Today #1 team in the nation going into the game.
-ATL Metro currently has 3 teams in the top 25 nationally (Grayson, Walton, Lassiter), 4 teams in the top 50 (Kell)
-ATL Metro has the #1 overall player in the nation...and the #1 RB (IMO) in the nation
-22-23 players ranked 4 star or better in the 2013 Class.

Miami/Dade area has great athletes but those guys don't put forth the effort in terms of S&C that the ATL Teams do. Guess it permeates all levels in Miami it was also evident in the S&C numbers of The U [of Miami] that don't stress strength S&C either as I currently weigh ~180 and I was stronger that ALL of their LBs in the bench press & squat when I saw their 2010 S&C numbers. If I recall correctly, Seantrel Henderson couldn't even bench press his bodyweight. This was also evident in the Grayson vs Miami Central match-up as Grayson physically man-handled Miami-Central.

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

I guess this is directed at me.......hhhmmm...

I stated that the Miami High School kids don't put forth effort in terms of S&C.....and that maybe it is a Miami thing "in general" as the "University of Miami" football players in addition to the High School players don't put forth much effort into S&C...

Hence, the issue isn't "endemic to the high school kids in Miami only"....it's a city-wide "thang".

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

You go look up the University of Miami S&C numbers from 2010.....and you tell me if I'm trolling. I thought the numbers were a joke...They were that pathetic.

If I recall correctly....Sean Spence had the best bench press of all the LBers and his max was 335. That's just an example. I was benching 335 when I weighed 165-170...and the strongest LBer on a BCS Team is benching 335.

    I don't need to troll.....that's a self-troll with those numbers.

Yes UM had a S & C problem under Randy Shannon in 2010. He is gone and that is no longer the case under Golden. So now you are saying Miami Highschool football has a S & C problem Cause of UM?
