What could have been ( Miami Hurricanes )

QB - Teddy Bridgewater/Kevin Olsen
RB - Duke Johnson/Alex Collins/Matt Jones ( Jones was a die hard Cane fan growing up, made a smart business decision and chose UF )
FB - Gus Edwards ( #1 FB prospect on a few sites )
Slot - Phil Dorsett/Malcolm Lewis
WR - Andre Cooper/Stacy Coley/Herb Waters
WR - Sammy Watkins/Rayshawn Scott/Robert Lockhart
TE - Beau Sandland/Clive Walford/Standish Dobard
LT - Ereck Flowers/Malcolm Bunche
LG - Brandon Linder/Danny Isidora
C - Jared Wheeler/Hunter Knighton
RG - Jon Feliciano/Hunter Wells
RT - Seantrel Henderson/Sonny Odogwu
IMO that is easily the best offense in america

I think I was fair on who they " should have gotten " too
Cooper was a Miami NW kid, they rarely leave the area
Watkins was bought but Miami blowing nuts made it easy for him to take the money and run off the Clemson, he was a Cane fan growing up and most knew that
Collins was turned off by sanctions, even his own momma couldn't keep him home... if Miami is good with no sanction threats... Collins is a Cane today
Man, its scary to think of how good that offense would be.... then again Coley might fail at developing it
But that WR core is stupifyingly good, and thank god it didn't happen

Not to sound like an ass, but I think its pretty obvious why they fell off
Miami made a brand name for themselves in the 80's, and that brand pissed off the NCAA and even the heads of the university
They put the breaks on their antics and made the place less appealing to the kids that surround its campus ( aka the best football talent in america still )
Add that with an unwillingness to spend money on staff, and you get a model of inconsistency

No knock on Bailey, but that offense was what Miami could have realistically gotten

I feel like none of those would have picked UM, Bernard wasn't offered by them IIRC
Plus this is a list that would be the offense for 2013

Boom. Yeah, I've said that I believe they will win a title again but it's going to be a program that averages 10-4 at best during 5 year stretches due to those issues.
