like it thus far but the gas economy on it stucks comeplete ass. 16-20 from a midsize Suv is awful. its got a big motor but jesus my 40 mile daily commute hurts

2011 Kia optima turbo The good: 10 yr 100k bumper to pumper warranty. Lots of power and 30 mpg. Oh and the best feature, heated and COOLED seats. drool

The bad: I drive a Kia.

    1997 F-350 power stroke.

The good: it's a sweet ride. The bad: nothing cool

That 97 Powerstroke is the most dependable thing ITT. +1 for the good taste.

The one I had before, also black, I just used one of those fuzzy mitt things, would go through about 5 in a year, to wash the sides, back and hood, and a long handled car wash brush for the top. Then I dried it with those drying cloths, you know the ones made out of that kinda weird material, feels almost rubbery? The key for me was drying it very good, it doesn't matter what use to wash it, but I wouldn't use a brush where people can see because it could leave marks from the bristles. And of course be sure to wash the soap off really good before you dry. Black paint can be a real ***** though, if you don't take your time.

Thanks! Definitely trying to avoid the scrapes and have so far for the most part.

You have taken VERY good care of yours no doubt. 500k is just breaking that bad boy in lol. Gosh that was a great engine.

The good: Around 400hp, 0-60 in about 4.0 seconds, and sounds like a truck. The AWD is beyond incredible in the snow. People either love it or hate it. I get lots of "thats a sick car" and "nice Honda, queer" at stoplights and gas stations.

The bad: It wasn't designed to be daily driven on rough pavement, so the ride and noise can get old (although, extensive sound deadening has helped tremendously). Gas mileage is horrendous, especially for a 4-cylinder (average around 16mpg, low 20s on the highway). Lots of attention from the cops, I've been pulled over around 12 times in the past year for various BS reasons.

400hp? lol not even close unless you have extensive work done..

Winter - 2003 Yamaha R1, bored and stroked to 1200CC, put down 187rwhp.

Pros - fun as hell, good on gas.
Cons - scary as hell, people try to kill me daily.

    Summer - 2001 BMW M5

Pros - lots of work done, makes over 400rwp, loud/fast. Surprises the hell of out a lot of ricers and attracts sexy ASU girls. Weighs 4000# and still runs 12s.
Cons - parts are expensive, MPGs suck.

  • 2002 F250 Lariat - 7.3L Diesel

Like: Never made a payment on it, so paid for for ages. Very little work had to be done to it over the years beyond typical maintenance, still handles well even with 213k miles on it. Being diesel, you can drive for at least 400k miles as long as you take care of it. I will probably buy a car for highway driving once I hit 300k miles, but I will keep the truck indefinitely for when I need it.

Dislike: When on the $h*tty roads in B'ham, without a load on the back, it bounces you around a lot. It was built to carry some weight. Also dislike being in strange towns and having trouble finding a diesel pump. Worst thing is going to a station with 75 gas pumps and 1 diesel pump and someone driving a Smart car is filling up in front of the diesel pump while the other 74 pumps are open.

I miss my 7.3, sold it before I moved out to AZ because of emissions.. rolled coal like a freight train.

I've been contemplating trading the M5 for another truck to haul my quads/dirtbikes around in, hard to find 7.3s... junk 6.0s everywhere.

  • I have a 2004 Dodge 3500 diesel crew cab dually with 154000 miles.
The good it pulls great an I have it chipped so it gets around 20 mpg an is fairly realiable
The bad its a big beast to drive around town an parking spaces are usually to small for it an buying six tires as opposed to four sucks a$$

Also have a 2006 Dodge 3500 diesel laramie with regular wheel base 64000 miles
The good its loaded with everything so thats nice an pulls ok but not as stable as the dually.
The bad dont have it chipped so it only gets around 16 mpg an have had several problems. Ball joints, fan motor for the ac an heat went bad, the alternator had a short in it an kept draining my batteries while I was driving. Would stop some where turn it off get back in it an go to leave an it would be DOA.

Wife has a Nissan Altima 3.5S
The good its loaded with everything it gets around 26 mpg which is ok but not great for what it is.
The bad it has a sportscar look but no power. Hoping to talk her into trading for a Jeep Sahara before long lolpray

Mine gets better mileage than the F150 V8 I had before it, and the F150 had a lot more minor mechanical issues to deal with. It would seem more practical for me to have a car, since I'm in sales, but I also flipped houses for a few years and owned a handyman business that I had to help out with from time to time. And while I could get better mileage out of something else, the longevity of my truck outweighs fuel efficiency. I get about 19mpg on the highway and probably around 16 in the city, and since I'm not going to buy a Prius Hybrid either way, I just can't see the point in swapping. Besides, I'd miss the rumble of the engine.

What do you mean by the FX35 having more balls? It's the same engine family with the 37 being bigger with 25 more HP. confused

Gobucks, I've enjoyed my 2009 G37XS from day one. I haven't had any real issues - just a few little things fixed under warranty. My dealership would come pick it up and drop off a loaner, so I never went to the dealership except the day I bought it.

More balls meaning get up an go. Both were brand new when I got them, both were ridden hard, both were driven 20k miles plus, and both were compared by me. That's what I mean when I said balls.

yea mine with new turbo, injectors, HPOP, fuel plate, exhaust, tune, and a built trans still got better MPGs than my V8 F-150. Plus, when people were on your ass, this was always fun!

I miss the hell out of that truck.

-One con is that it's black and people on the highway think I'm an unmarked cop car and slow down in front of me...pissing me off

i had a 2000 Ford Crown Vic at one point and had that same problem...though it was funny to see ppl slowly put on seat belts and slow roll past my pot head friends' houses
i now drive a 2004 Z71, love it except the mpg

What do you drive and what do you like/dislike about your vehicle? This info might help someone in the future.

    White 08 Armada
    The good:
Perfect size for the family, seats up to 8, plenty of leg room front and back, has third row if needed, solid sound system, AC and volume controls front and back, plenty of power, if you lay down third row it has a huge storage area for going on vacations etc.

    The bad:
MPG 19 hwy 15 city, not much room behind third row if all your seats are taken, check engine light stays on because the gas caps suck on these things.

Not my pic below but this is what mine looks like.
