Should be interesting to see what Michigan looks like when Hoke has all his guys in there. Their recruit list looks similar to what an OSU recruit list would look like under Tressel besides all the good olinemen. But basically pretty highly rated midwest kids. They currently only have one kid from the south.
I don't think Miles is a better coach, but he's definitely a bigger name that would've gotten more national recruits. He would've brought instant credibility, and allowed Michigan to recruit the south much better. As an OSU and ND fan I would rather see Hoke there than Miles.

I don't know WHAT the odds are, but whatever they are, they worked out for Michigan.
Hoke is the real deal, and unless you watch Michigan every week you really have no idea how little talent this team has.
Our best defensive players:
Jordan Kovacs- Student tryout walk-on Kenny Demens- 3* star LB with no major offers Jake Ryan- 2* star LB with 1 BCS offer (Michigan obvy) Quinton Washington- 3* recruit who was recruited as a Guard and played there for 2 years before switching to DT Craig Roh- 4* DE highly ranked, but now on his 4th different position because of weaknesses otherwise
Hoke has a team full of guys like this playing among the best in the B1G (not saying much I know), just wait until he fills out his team with talent like he's recruiting now. Won't be long before he's winning B1G titles.

If you're a Michigan fan and you say you would rather have Hoke over Miles, you're delusional. Hoke still hasnt won a conference championship, and he wont this year. The hat has won conference championships and has a ring.

I'm an MSU guy, and I'm telling you, I'd rather have Miles at U of M then Hoke.
Is Miles better? Perhaps, I'd even say probably so. He recruits well to his school and coaches them up to play in a tough conference in which he has great success.
I don't think Hoke would have the success that Miles has if Hoke was coaching in the SEC. That's an opinion, but I feel very strongly about it.
Here's the kicker: I don't think Miles would have the success Hoke EVENTUALLY will have at Michigan.
Here's why: Miles wouldn't just have come to Michigan as Les Miles, he would have come to Michigan with a ton of baggage attached. I dont' know that he would have got much more cooperation from the Michigan Mafia then Rich Rod did. I know he burnt some bridges up there, you all probably know the reasons, so I won't rehash them here. To be successful at Michigan you need the administration, the Alumni and the Mafia all pulling in the same direction, I dont' think Miles would have enjoyed that.
Hoke, on the other hand is pretty much universally loved by all Michigan people. Hell, my father who is so anti-uofm said to me this weekend after Hoke showed the emotion fo a close victory "you know, I really like that guy". It's a fact. Hoke might not be as good of a coach as the hat, but he Would never have got Mattison to come down to LSU with him. He's got a very good staff, and from all things heard, they all like each other a lot and it appears they work well not only with each other, but with the old staff ( and one ex coach in particular that would have made Miles life miserable at Michigan).
In conclusion: Miles is probably a better coach then Hoke. Hoke would/will have more success at Michigan than Miles would have had.

Miles banged the wife of ex-coach Michigan Coach Gary Mueller for those not in the know BTW. A lot of people hate him because of it, including Lloyd Carr who for whatever reason if he doesn't get his way will stamp his feet and create a cancerous environment for the Coach. Happened for Rich Rod, and probably would have happened with Les.
Hoke > Miles for Michigan. Miles might be the better Coach (I don't think that will eventually be the case), but Hoke is a much better fit for Michigan.
Doesn't surprise me that immature Buck fans, and SEC fans cannot acknowledge that.

Miles makes some headscratching decisions constantly. He gets his kids to play hard for him, and he recruits well; he also has an all-star staff, many of which I'm convinced (stay in SEC country likely wouldn't have come to Michigan.
Hoke and Mattison > Miles IMO.
Lulz at fugging losers like you coming in and pumping Meyer in a thread that has nothing to do with him. How are his health issues? Lulz.

Yeah, I mean, I also heard that Sugar Bowls really don't count as anything at any level of CFB.
What does Michigan look like if
