BELLEFONTE, Pa. -- Jurors will return Friday to deliberate in the child sex abuse trial of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

The jury talked about the case for more than eight hours Thursday before ending deliberations at about 9:30 p.m.

Earlier in the evening, the jurors asked to rehear testimony from two witnesses.

They want to listen again to the testimony of Mike McQueary, a onetime Penn State graduate assistant who reported seeing Sandusky assault a boy in a shower. They also want to rehear the testimony of Dr. Jonathan Dranov, who testified that McQueary gave him a different account of what he saw.

They'll rehear the testimony Friday.

Sandusky is accused of sexual abuse of 10 boys over a 15-year period, allegations he's denied.

When you don't have a victim and the account of the star witness is disputed by a family friend who he confided with that night, you are going to have a hard time convicting someone of a crime in that instance. Now do I think he did it to that boy? Yeah, I do. But that is not how the legal system works.

Understand it just worries me. his testimony is what started it all and gave all these victims the strength to step forward. Makes me sick they would let him off of that charge in particular. But if he was found guilty of the rest ok

Its just if you play devils advocate and say how would you get him off if you want to- its starts with those two testimonies

because mcqueary is the only witness and he has changed his story 4 times, it isnt that hard to comprehend.... don't worry jerry sandusky only needs a 15ish year sentence for it to be a life sentence and he will get much much more than 15 years

No, the investigation started when victim #1 told his school that there was an issue with Sandusky. Then in private sessions with his psychologist, it came out as to what happened.

That was basically Sandusky's lawyer's closing argument, but then you would have to ask "why have so many people, some with zero to gain in all this, have it out to get Jerry?" What is the gain for McQueary? What is the gain for the police? What is the gain for the janitor (or in this case, the janitor's co-worker who was allowed to testify what the janitor told him)?
