No, I'm not a sarcastic azzhole like others on this board. Your points are VERY valid and well taken, but to the rest of the cavemen on this board, they don't see things from a human perspective, but rather an entertainment one. If it was up to the majority on this board, they would bring back the gladiators and sacrifice people to lions. SMH...

Why are you guys making this into something? He specifically said nfl guys are paid and have things to take care of them. College players have nothing and theyre putting their lives at risk for free.
If obama says he won't let his children drive motorcycles is it really that bad? He simply says football is dangerous as hell and it's avoidable.

Blem, not sure what the CFL is doing about concussions. It's a garbage league and I never watch it, or pay attention. I know they are doing something as I've heard it on TV, but never paid attention close enough attention to know specifically what they are doing.
Also maybe concussions and head trauma affected Seau's persona, but I'm guessing many other factors were the main contributor to his suicide and "erratic behavior". Mainly being out of the spotlight, no longer having that feeling of being on a team, lots of factors of transitioning from pro athlete to regular joe. Heck we saw he had issues with it when he retired and un-retired a couple times.
Plus you say I have no proof that this does affect someones behavior, but no one has concrete proof the opposite way either. Seems like there is more of a cause and effect conclusion as opposed to hard evidence connecting the two. Perhaps they are tied together, perhaps not. You chose to believe one, I chose to believe the other.

Sounds like a personal problem if you ask me. Pro athletes know the consequences. As far as high school and college players, their parents know the risks as well. If they don't agree with them, then do not let them play. Pretty simple concept.

He can comment about the safety issues in football, and still tackle the issue of the alarming suicide rate in our Armed Forces
Do you have some evidence that he isn't concerned?
I know for a fact that the government is concerned because my daughter in law just got hired as a Psychologist at Ft Campbell to work with Soldiers and their families, with suicide prevention being at the top of her job description. And I know how many places she could have chosen from and I know there are a lot of jobs like hers openng up all over the country. Literally hundreds of openings to fill from what she told me
I sure dont get why people think a President can't multi- task

In English? I will be glad to discuss this with you if I knew what you were referencing I was adding context to the Armed Forces Mental Health issue that OTHERS inserted into the discussion I have no inkling that Obama isn't concerned about it But I do know the government he runs is very concerned about it, based on personal knowledge My son and his wife just moved to Clarksville TN last week The company who hired her has a lot of those positions to fill, all over the country, specifically working with returning troops and their famiies So IMO, unless you can demonstrate otherwise, I believe Obama IS concerned about the situation

people like you just further prove to me that football is done and will no longer be a sport anybody cares about sooner than later
Its truly sad but Im over it and no longer care for I saw this coming 4 or 5 years ago, its not like Im playing anymore and I could easily live without watching it... its already gayer than its ever been by far and its only getting worse at a rapidly fast pace
Lolz at this idea that pussies like you think you can " change " the game for the better
What we should be doing is stop letting the players use steroids and PED's, that is a far bigger problem than how physical the game was always meant to be

You make statements that you cant back up with facts
Not my problem
I never said his brain issues were the reason he killed himself
I simply said that there is a lot of reason to believe that it played at least a part
Just as it did with Dave Duerson
I notice in all our interaction, you have avoided his case
I totally understand why
You seem intractable, irascible and irritable
I simply took issue with your definitive statement that brain damage issues had nothing to do with Junior Seau's suicideI have never declared it did
I simply said that taking everything into consideration, there is enough evidence to believe it played at least a part
You seem very invested in debunking this theory, despite the overwhelming agreement by the NFL, the players both present and past and the medical community that it is a problem that requires a cooperative and comprehensive effort to find a workable solution
You sound like the know nothings who still deny global warning
All from the comfort of your barcolounger
Tough guy to the max, eh?

I have said nothing in thus thread that people like Mike Ditka and Steve Young and Terry Bradshaw havent said
I really only dusputed the contention that we know for a fact that Junior Seau wasnt impacted by the brain condition his autopsy proved he had
I have never said anything more than it is a problem and the more they do to make it less if a problem is a good thing
I heard Steve Young, who had his career ended by head issues say one thing they coukd do us establish a way to do base line testing for all kids so they can at least make informed decusions on their own health
Not that a knee jerk reactionary like you would undersrand or even contemplate that
It us people like YOU who will ruin the game, not Steve YoungUSMCAG ●
