I was pretty much referring to the way Kiffin called the game to help keep his team in it, time of possession. Not as much referring to the total yds, but that just happened to be one of the things UT had that was better than Bama in the gm. Plus, that was a good amount of yds compared to what Bama was used to giving up that year.

Seriously, Saban is the type that never burns out and Bama is the type that is never is satisfied. I could see Saban/Bama winning at least 3 more NCs if Saban stays at Bama for about 5-7 more years. he's putting out 4 1st rounders every draft now and dominates everyone without the need for a throwing QB (most consistent way to win...no TOs, rely on defense). Are there any coaches with his drive? nope. Schools with Bama's mindset? Kentucky basketball has it but other football programs?

No, especially when the kicker shanked the kick into the elbow of a defensive tackle (that kick wouldn't have made it to endzone on the fly), just as he did earlier in the same game. And especially when he went 1/6 from 40+ yards on the season that year. It would've been a fluke had he made it in that situation.
As for Ingram's only career fumble, I should've said "to that point" obviously. He lost another one, although I think we all can agree that God caused the one in the Iron Bowl.
Bottom line, the poster overreached on his praise of Lane Kiffin outcoaching Nick Saban.
Kiffin did a fine job that day, but let's not revise history. It was an ugly game with a wild ending.

Uh, history isn't your strong suit eh. Bobby Bowden calls BS on that crap. 5 NC games in 8 years. Miami and UFAG knocked us out of at least 4 more NC appearances. Won 2. 14 years straight ranked in top 5 in both polls. 12 straight bowl wins in what would be bcs games today All playing schedules tougher than Bama is now. That is the gold standard and don't forget it.
Gaters, USC, Miami, Texas, and OU fans probably all said the same crap the op is saying. Yet they all flamed out And their nice little runs we're a quarter of Bobby's.
I always considered Saban and Urban the same type coach. Urban was exposed and left with tail tucked. Saban will burn out soon enough. Nice run though. I know how fun it is knowing you have the best coach, assistants, and athletes in the country. Enjoy it while it lasts

actually, you are 100% wrong.
if a penalty were called on Cody for taking his helmet off, it is a dead ball penalty, which means it is assessed ON THE NEXT PLAY. Meaning there has to be another play, but since the clock was at 0:00....there is no other play....so the game is over.
Even if there were time for another play....the ball would still be Alabama's minus the 15 yard penalty. Bama kneels and then game is over.
Furtermore, the FG kick was not even capable of being recovered by UT since it crossed the neutral zone and hadn't hit a Bama player (initial block doesn't count here as a touch).
Also, the old adage of how a game can't end on a defensive penalty is not right either. The actual rule is a game can't end on a LIVE ball penalty (holding, PA, etc.). Unsportsmanlike conduct can end a game.
