What position players do you have that are the nations best?

I thought the other tight end whose cousin is at Miami was better, because I use him a lot in the game.

He came in ranked higher, but Telfer started more - if not all - games last year (both were r-Fr last year; r-So this year). Xavier Grimble, the guy you're thinking of, has had butterfingers this fall. Grimble will definitely be the #2 TE though, and Kiffin anticipates many 2-TE sets.

Grimble is a better blocker, Telfer a better receiver.

Do you expect the TE's to be a lot more involved this year?

Kiffin's playcalling loves the TE's and RB's, especially on 3rd and 3-7 yards. They made a lot of big catches on 3rd downs, especially in the Stanford and Oregon games last year. With them having more trust this year and more time in the system, do you see them getting downfield a little more often this year?

I ask because I am looking at taking Telfer later in my fantasy draft instead of going with someone else earlier and I think he will still be around.

Telfer would be perfect for fantasy IMO.

Woods and Lee are so talented and demand so much attention that they're going to keep the middle of the field open for short passes to the TEs, and besides having great hands, Telfer is one of those guys that consistently drags tacklers ten yards.

Telfer's certainly not the best TE in football but he's going to rack up stats because of the position he's in at USC.

That's kind of what I am looking for. A TE with 30-40 receptions and hopefully 5 or 6 TDs. Hopefully one I can get in the later rounds in my draft tonight.

  • LT Wagner
OC Frederick. Nod to Jones but both are switching positions and Frederick will be in the discussion.
    RB Ball

On the outside looking in, but near the top grouping.
    H-Back Pederson
    LB's Borland and Taylor

This. With Woods and Lee getting a cloud it will be one on one or a seam in the zone for our backs and TE's on almost every down.

  • The only Hawkeye with a shot at being a #1 guy in America is TE CJ Fiedorowicz.

There are a few others that could compete for top spots in the Big Ten--QB James Vandenberg, WR Keenan Davis, LT Brandon Scherff, CB Micah Hyde--but those guys won't be All-Americans this year. Scherff could get there by next year or '14, and he should be the third straight starting LT to be a first round pick whenever he chooses to go pro.

EL may get injured but a healthy EL is one of the top 5 RBs in the nation.

Lacy is at best third in the SEC behind Lattimore and Davis.

Best NT is.not in Alabama, he is.in Georgia and he will go higher in the.draft guaranteed

A NT is a NT and a DT is a DT, generally when people say DT, they are referring to a 4-3, also while I do think Lacy is a good back, he's not even tops in the SEC, let alone top 5 in the country.

Lattimore, Davis, Michael are all better and I would say Stacy is just as solid, one benefit that Lacy has, though, is the OL he runs behind.

JW moves from the Nose in our Base to a DT in our Nickle or Dime Defense....So what ever.

As far as EL goes we will revisit this topic on Sept 2nd and see if you have changed your mind.

Good Luck to you guys, ready to watch a Great Game in Dallas!

  • In the conversation right now:

    DE: Jenkins and Warner
    CB: Rhodes
    FS: Joyner
    K: Hopkins

Chance to be there at end of season

    LB: Jones

The DEs are in most people's top 10. Reporters and analysts who watch film instead of just going off stats have Rhodes and Joyner in their top 10s. Hopkins has comparable numbers to any kicker in the game. Jones' numbers were held down by the position he played but people who watched the film love the guy. He covered TEs and even some slot WRs well, took on blockers and still made plays. Switching sides of the defense will free him up to make more tackles and sacks, letting his numbers skyrocket as long as he is healthy.
