do you feel have the potential to compete for a BCS Championship at least every 3 or 4 years?
I'll start with the SEC:
Alabama LSU Florida Auburn Tennessee (when they get the right coach)
USCe is borderline only when the East is down, but when both Florida and Tennessee are back, no way.
Also, I believe Tennessee is a lot closer to being back than people realize. That could be a downfall though that they might have just a good enough season to decide to keep Dooley around, much like UGA did with Richt.
UGA could be on the list up top, but they need to gut all participants in their athletic department. Their results in all major sports should be humiliating when you think about the recruiting pool they have for those sports. Plus, it is tough to add UGA and a team like Arkansas when they have such a problem getting past the top teams in the conference to begin with.

Tennessee and Auburn? Really? Tennessee won't be great for a long long time and Auburn got lucky with Cam last season. They haven't proven to be consistent national contenders with Gene Chizick at the helm. What's Chizick's record without Cam? TIA

If Tennessee had not lost Bray for an extended period and their 2 top receivers, people would be talking about them more coming into this year, IMO.
Chizick's record at Auburn without Cam is 16-10, since you asked. If people are too blind to see the talent that Auburn has coming up on their team, people are going to be in for a rude awakening in the next couple of years.
I don't think they are going to overtake Bama or anything, but they will blow past Arkansas and maybe even LSU if they don't watch out.
I am a Bama fan, but I can also look at it without the glasses sometimes. Besides, Nick Saban is 7-6 at Bama without Mark or Trent. Do you think one player make that much of a difference?
If Cam was at Auburn this past year, they would have still lost 2 or 3 games. The rest of that team was pretty good. They had a perfect storm of Senior in 2010, not just Cam.

I don't mean the teams that will win, but teams that have a chance to be in consideration. A team that every 4 years or so will enter November in the discussion.
From the B1G, for instance, I would say tOSU, Michigan St, and Wisconsin right now with Michigan right on the cusp.
