I actually have The Sopranos in front of The Wire in the GOAT discussion. However...the Wire season 1 is better than any Sopranos season imo. What knocks The Wire down to #2 is season 5. McNultty going full retard just destroyed any chance of The Wire over taking The Sopranos.

When lester bought in too I lost it, such a stupid ending to a great show
Makes me so mad when fans of that show say season 2 is worse than 5, nope.... not even close
Season 2 introduces the real bad guys and also shows the white side of B More which was interesting to me and a nice twist on how it all tied together
They still kept the main characters involved too, season 2 was the shit
