What will UFs offense look like next year?

  • Who starts, Driskel or Brisset?

    OL still a dumpster fire?

Do they have any young WRs coming on to look for next year?

Who's at RB? Is that Gillislie girly named guy leaving/graduating?

    Driskel is our QB

Offensive line will be in its second year in the same system. An extra year for Humphries in a S&C program. Additions of Max Garcia, Trenton Brown and Tyler Moore. Plus two three year starters in Halapio and Harrison. Chaz Green and Jessamen Dunker were highly recruited and are highly thought of. So in short, no.

I really don't know with the receivers. Gotta pray for TR FR Alvin Bailey and Ahmad Fulwood to have some sort of impact. We're still recruiting WRs this year but nothing looks like a slam dunk. Solomon Patton will do Solomon Patton things. Dunbar is showing promise. Latroy Pittman, Raph Andrades and Kent Taylor are too. Idk about this position. One can only hope. We need to hire a great WR coach/ace recruiter this offseason.

Gillislee is graduating. Good chance kelvin Taylor starts next year. Matt Jones, Adam Lane, Mack Brown and Chris Johnson will back him up. We'll get solid to good production from this group if the line stays healthy. Hunter Joyer will be used in short yardage and Trey Burton and Solomon Patton will get carries out of the WildGator. Plus, Driskel's legs are always a thread.

Anymore questions? TEs will be Reed (if he returns), Kent Taylor, Chris Thompson and Tevin Westbrook.

  • Ur starting a freshman RB?

Also, Do you think Driskel can throw? Is that something you guys are worried about?

We know Driskel can throw when the o-line gives him time, it's not crazy to expect his passing game will improve further in his Jr year behind a better line.

No, we're going to bench the #1 RB of the 2013 class despite RB being an area of need...

Bingo. Driskel has displayed great accuracy and touch when given time.

It's not like freshmen RBs are having a good year this year or anything....

The further away from the ball, the easier it is to make an early impact.

Team will be much improved next year on offense. With proven commodities in Garcia/Moore transfers, Humphries, current starters and additional depth, the OLine better be strength. If it is not, we need a new coach. The talent upgrade is something for gators to get very excited about. Driskel wasn't the #1 QB out of HS for no reason. He's got all the tools. He needs more time to throw, better WR's, and another year with Pease. He'll be a much improved passer in '13. We desperately need a quality WR coach and that position group needs to improve. I'm not sure it will as much as we want it to. Its the biggest question mark for me as we head into '13. RB is not a huge concern. Matt Jones is really improving and running lower and with more power than early in the season and the two RB's committed are going to be very good for us. Like Dundee said, the RB's will produce with the improved OLine...

While were talking about offense, why not mention defense. The fact is, Champ will always play to the strength of his defense and the Offense won't ever need to be stellar, but only productive enough... The Dline will take a hit with the loss of Floyd (assumed), Omar Hunter, Lerentee McCray and Earl Okine. But, even assuming Easley stays we'll have some inexperience at Tackle/Nose that would be worse if he too chose to head to the NFL. But, we get Ronald Powell back and have two stud DEs in Dante Fowler (you may have heard of him lol) and Jonathan Bullard so the line may be weaker in the middle but stronger on the edge. The secondary, even with Elam leaving will only be better than it is this year.

Never thought skill position U would have trouble getting receivers. I guess you just need to show you can chuck it around a little better

We get good receivers, they just don't develop and suck ass.

  • As bad as Florida offense has been, I'm impressed with their OC. I think its time to adjust to that offense and have right skill set players to run it. It will be a nightmare sometime in near future if you ask me. I think Carolina should keep Clowney for 7 years to help out

Our "veteran" WR's have had four WR coaches, three OC's and switched from a spread to a pro set. We need continuity more than we need a talent upgrade. Though we certainly need both.

We have Percy Harvin 2 on the team and he's got character of a dick head 4th grader. We've got a bunch of other guys that like to play with their tamagotchis on the bench then give meaningful minutes. Hopefully the new recruits come in and take over. Bailey and Fullwood can be real legit next year and should be.

Gonna be hard to replace he and Evans. But this is our secondary next year:

    Corners-
    Jaylen Watkins
    Marcus Roberson
    L. Purifoy
    Brian Poole Jr
    Vernon Hargreaves
    Cody Riggs

    Safeties-
    Pop Saunders
    Jabari Gorman
    Valdez Showers
    Marcus Maye
    Rhaheem Ledbetter
    Marcell Harris
    Keanu Neal

    I think we'll be ok

  • The only reason I ask is because I look at your roster and who you're losing and it makes me think that Florida might not be very good next year, But then at the same time I've been extremely impressed with the job that will muschamp is done with your squad this year. So I'm not really too sure what to think about your team.

Really, who are we losing that you think we are going to take such a step back?

We are. Gators will definitely take a step back defensively. You just can't replace Floyd, Elman, and Bostic, the senior signal-caller at Mike. At the same time, Muschamp will still have a top 10 defense because...that's kind of what he does. Gators will have three lock-down corners and three ends that can get after people.

On offense, yeah, "crap" might be a good word. The offensive line should be vastly improved, but the Gators will lose the only two "playmakers" we had on that side of the ball. A lot of "if's" will need to happen for that unit to even be mediocre ("If" Driskel takes the next step, "If" Kelvin Taylor is ready to be an everydown SEC back the second he steps on campus, etc.)
