Well there was a rumor that Matt and Easley said they were coming back so if that does happen we'll be just as legit on defense. Ronald Powell will fill the leader roll regardless. Hopefully Jenkins comes back. He hasn't made much of an impact to really warrant a high round grade IMHO. It wouldn't be the smartest to leave.

Offensively we SHOULD be lightyears better but god only knows if that will hold or not.

Without Gilly and Reed? Umm...

Florida's biggest issue is WR and they arent doing anything to fix it. They will flame my face for saying it for the 3rd straight offseason but it's true. Shy of him killing a man they should have taken Coley.

IDK they probably see another Debose in Coley. Kid just doesn't seem to give a crap. Seems the coaches would rather struggle than have Coley sit on the bench twirling his hair and wasting a scholly.

You're a good poster Slevin but comparing Debose to Coley is foolishness.

Debose was a 40 time, good frame, good kid that had tremendous high school film in terms of him absolutely merking people with pure speed. Coley is a better WR then Debose today. Coley is a different type of player but he's a Sammy Watkins level talent. Very Justin Blackmon-like.

Debose is terrible because he had so much he had to learn and refine but he never cared enough, apparently...I hear that from Gates.

Coley, unless he gets booted for not going to class, will be a team's #2 WR minimum. He's just that good.

Yeah I get what you're saying. All I was getting at is Coley is throwing up that red flag when it comes down to caring. They already have that in Debose and probably don't want to spend another 2-3 years trying to open another kids eyes to get them to work. Coley is dropping in the rankings and it has nothing to do with his talent. Kid should be top 25. The coaches probably don't want to have to deal with having to push a kid. They want ballers and hard workers like Sherit and Hargreaves and Bullard and Fowler.

Not even remotely saying Coley won't be a baller and a hard worker in college, but Champ and co. got burnt a lot last year and are still getting burned by some of Urbans guys and I'm assuming they don't want to take that chance with Coley. I could be 100% wrong though and not know jack crap about anything. Not like that's never happened before

Haha, let's not try to spin this and make it out like Gilly and Reed AREN'T our only two consistent playmakers on offense. Gilly's the best RB we've had in awhile and the fact he has a shot at 1,000 yards behind this OL is incredible. Reed's been the only guy who has proven to get open and make plays in the passing game.

Another year of development for Driskel, an improved OL, and another year in Pease's system should bode well for us. But I don't see how we don't have many of the same issues.

So maybe not worse, but certainly not much better.

I don't find myself to be negative, but I see fans of all teams make this mistake too often. The Gators aren't going to lose Gillislee, Floyd, Bostic, Elam, Evans, Hunter, Hammond, (and probably) Easley, Reed, and Jenkins and take a step forward. They're just not easy to replace, regardless of how much talent and potential you think their replacements have.
