What's Bethesda's next big release?

You know the main thing for me is this. I love the interaction part of these games and Fallout 3 was my first RPG to ever play and I remember thinking of how much fun the entire concept was. I wish someone would make a game that mimicked real life to a tee. Start you off as a single 25 year old and just say GO and literally everything in the game is interactive. You can date, be a serial killer, find a job, whatever....

That's called IRL. It's really hard and you only level once a year!

IRL I'm a level 28 badass who has a great job and a womanizer. My last quest was to survive a 12 hour tailgate and watch OSU beat meatchicken. The quest I'm on now is to meet with some important customers and get a big deal in. If I do I will be rewarded with a house upgrade.

It's pretty sweet. I would highly recommend putting more focus into it. ;-)

I think I might prefer fallout to Elder Scrolls just because they make the world so unique. The radio stations with the Dorsey Brothers type music just adds to the super isolated and alone feeling.

Did not like fallout at all. Skyrim is my favorite all time, but couldn't get into fallout.

Fallout 4 will be their next game and it is going to be set in the Commonwealth.

    Oh and Video Game Thread.

Even though Bethesda has said that all of their future Fallout games will be set in the US, I hold out hope for a Fallout: London.

Fallout Europe would be epically awesome. It could be possible on next-gen.

  • I desperately need to play the next fallout. If my laptop can handle it.

Fallout 3 was, along with Mass Effect 2, the absolute best game I ever played.

  • I just want to point out how was awesome Fallout 3 was despite being behind the recent generation of games that include more intimate story-telling aspects.

The awesomeness of Fallout 3 IMO was the sheer amount of stuff there was to do. They also did a fantastic job integrating the DLC into the storyline. It was seamless.

God, I loved that game. Mass Effect 2 was great too, but that was for the absolutely beautiful storytelling. Fallout was just such a wide-open sandbox...

I measure my time playing that game in weeks and I still probably didn't do or see everything.

Yup...I never did either, they just had so much to do in there.

Sweet Jesus that was a good game. I'd buy the sequel in a heartbeat.

Fallout 3 I'd imagine. Mass Effect 2 was a spectacular game in its own right but much more limited in what you could do.

Level 34 here! Decent home and big family so I'm doing good so far. Hard to get a side GF so was hoping for a helmet release soon lol.

Fallout. Never really got into Mass Effect. I guess I should give it go then?

    1. Play the Mass Effect Trilogy
    2. Upon completing ME3, watch the video about the Indoctrination Theory
    3. ???
    4. Profit

Fallout 3 was the single greatest game I've ever played and I've submitted to the fact that it will be my favorite forever. I may even change my screen name here to Enclavion or Super Mutant lol. The amount of stuff you could do and the places you could go seemed limitless at times. I truly hope Betheada understands the popularity of that game and makes many many more before its over.

I've never played ME1/2/3 actually. All I know is the open world RPG games are the single greatest invention since the lightbulb.

My #1 game of all time. Well, maybe. Its a tough list to make. Skyrim, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Red Dead Redemption, Super Mario World, Kingdom Hearts... They are all high up there.

    and Super Tecmo Bowl.

Damn. My wife is going to be pissed when I bring that game home.

It depends....Mass Effect 2 in particular ( I never played #3 and the reviews of the endings scared me off) is not the same style of game as Fallout. The game is not really a sandbox; much of the story line is set to some degree. It's beautifully written and told and was a joy to play for me, but the appeal is different from Fallout 3.

I'd recommend it but don't expect it to be like Fallout 3. In a way it's more like you're playing through a movie.

  • I'm really behind actually. The only RPG games I've played are Fallout3, New Vegas, and Skyrim. I tried borderlands but to could never get into it at all.

Y'all will laugh but my 2nd favorite game of all time is actually Medal of Honor on PS2. I know I played that start to finish roughly 15 times. I'm also a big fan of the Resident Evil and Uncharted series.

That's hilarious. That's my exact list except for KOTOR and KOTOR2. KOTOR is easily up there with Fallout 3 and Skyrim as three of my FOAT.
