Guys, Guys Michigan State has beaten Michigan 4 yrs in a row, Finally won a bowl and have Dantonio who can coach up 2*'s, they recruit on national level. They have arrived!

edit: whats crazy is that now that I look at that list, its the 4 major rivalry games I watched growing up

If Nebraska had 2 more titles or if the school was in California, Florida, Ohio, or Texas, they would be on that list as well. Nebraska is probably the eighth team I think of. They're obviously elite, but they don't frequent the top five in recruiting rankings or have an insane number of titles (hold Texas) like the other schools on my list.

I'm also going to answer the Florida schools fans instead of double posting. All of those schools would be on the list if they had been playing football for a longer time. I just think that history plays a role in what schools come to mind first. All of those schools have great football programs and are on the cusp of joining that elite seven, like Nebraska.

But, it's just my worthless opinion. Any school with a national title, a heisman, or a whole bunch of wins should be proud and could arguably be one of the first schools that come to mind when thinking college football.

For the most part, everyone's response seems largely influenced by region or conference. I guess it's expected.

Alabama born and raised, so most of them are SEC teams, but I remember FSU and Nebraska beating the hell out of people all through the 90's when I was growin up.
