When is Chris Petersen's interview with Wisconsin?

  • The Wisconsin board is reporting that Chris Petersen will definitely interview with Wisconsin.

    Does anyone know when this is going down?

    Chris Petersen (HC- Boise State): It has been confirmed through a number of media outlets that Chris Petersen will in fact interview with Wisconsin AD Barry Alvarez on Monday.

    Here's the deal.
    It got reported by one radio station and one radio station only that Petersen was interviewing today. ESPN1070, which employs Matt LePay and Mike Lucas. Coincidently, they also happen to be employees of the Athletic department.
    This goes two ways.
    1. The interview is happening, but I bet you won't hear about it for a while if it goes well. Barry is well aware of the crap that went down at Tennessee and isn't about to allow this to be a circus show.
    2. It's a smokescreen put up by Barry to allow the "real targets" to remain behind cover while they get interviewed.
    I vote number 2. I'm not letting myself get excited by this for no reason. I will say Wisconsin comes out looking much better if Petersen gets hired and actually will give Urban some competition in the Big 10.

  • I hope Wisconsin can make this happen. Biggest thing holding the BIG back is the lack of depth at the HC spot.

    Urban, Hoke, O'Brien ... then what? Pelini? O'Brien is in a real tough situation for the coming years, but I really like him as a coach so far.

    Fair enough. I'm far from saying Michigan is "back" but I do think they are heading in the right direction. Anyone who wasn't a total homer, or didn't have their head up their ass coming into the season saw we were going to have a tough go of it.

    8-4, or 9-3 was my prediction for this year and it was right on the money.

    Petersen would be a hell of a coup for Wiscy and IMO just fits in with their culture pretty well. It would also be awesome to see another top flight coach join the B1G.

    Agreed, make everything out of this Bart mess a whole lot better. Still stings we lost Alex Collins when Bert flew the coop though.

  • More and more this goes on, the more I don't believe it's going to happen. Just a circus show evertime anyone hints at interest in Chris Peterson. Report about the Idaho radio station was actually the radio station reporting what the Madison radio station had claimed.
