Which Football short dynasty was most dominant in the 2000s

  • How can USC be a dynasty if they don't even have a title? Aren't dynasties about championships? shrug

    USC 2002-2008

    USC 82-9 .901 / FSU 77-8-1 .901 2 titles 3 title games/ could've been 5 3 Heismans in 4 years Top 4 7 straight years

USC vs 3 loss or less AQ teams (86%) FSU vs 3 loss or less AQ teams (77%)

USC and FSU's #'s are quite similar, but what separates the 2 is the schedule IMO 1- FSU was playing 8 games a year vs ACC teams 2- USC had a better record against elite 3 loss or less AQ teams. 3- FSU lost 4 games by more than a touchdown in that 86 game span USC played all 90 games never losing by more than 7 pts.

From ND game of 01 to Oregon game of 09, USC set a record that might never be broken, by going 103 consecutive games (92-11), never losing a game by more than 7 pts.

    Impressive.

    Yes.

His teams did finish in the top 5 every year from 1987-2000.

Worst season in that 14 yr stretch was 10-2. FSU had a 10-2 record in '89, '90, '95.

That FSU run was the best of my lifetime, however as long as saban stays, I can see Bama surpassing it(as they already have two clear MNC and probably more before run is over. Hell, they are on par with South Carolina Baseball :)

People felt the same way about SoCal a few years back.

I think Saban is humiliated that the NFL chewed him up and spit him out.

He'll take another crack. He's gotta find out just how good he really is.

Ya, true. Anytime a team can what 95% of their conference games for an entire decade, like Florida St did from 92-01, you are dealing with a really weak conference. Teams can do it for 6-7 yrs at about 90% in the best conferences but a full decade at 95% means Florida St of the 90's was more like Boise St of the 2000's than they were like USC.

What's even crazier is up through 2005, FSU still had a 90% win pct in ACC games since they joined the conference in 1992 (and they had'nt been good since 01).

I think the Mtn West would have put up more of a fight than that against Florida St.

Really is silly if you think Bowden's best 7 years can compete with Pete's 7 year run,
considering how much FSU benefited from the weak conference they were in. If they had won
95% of their other games as well, then you could say it was legit.

You're nothing, and a nobody....just like the rest of us who post here. Written history says otherwise, and that will ultimately tell just how dominant USC was. We're not out of the picture to come back yet, either.

I understand, it must be difficult to take a university and it's fans seriously since we don't revere a single sport, nor do we consider our identity as a university. Laid back approach, and allowed our facilities to fall in disrepair, while our fundraising and donations reached the Ivy League level. Thanks to the NCAA and y'all for waking us up, things have never been better.

I remember quite vividly, y'all screaming to all who would listen that in spite of your own sanctions and vacated wins..."you know who really won those games!" What's fair for all you clowns, is fair for all.
