Which NFL teams will draft a QB

  • in the first round next year?

Right now I see only Smith and Barkley being selected in the first round. So many NFL teams either have established QBs or recently drafted a qb in the first round. Which teams in next years draft will attempt to take a qb in the first round?

  • Kansas City most definitely will. Buffalo may as well. That Fitzpatrick contract is all window dressing and no substance.

Oakland, Cleveland(again), Arizona, NYJ... These 3 are possible, as I think NYJ will be looking to completely rebuild.

  • I was thinking those as well, especially KC. Oakland does not have a 1st round pick available, and not sure if Cleveland can afford one with all of their other issues. The two most likely I guess would be KC and Buffalo.

I think the jets have too many other needs to go QB at this point. Need OL, RB, and a legit pass rusher (or they could tank next year and wait on Clowney)

  • Jaguars. They are en route to the number one pick too...

Cleveland better not. They need help on defense and the OL.

As much as I hate admitting it, Weeden has gotten better each game and isn't the problem.

A couple other QBs will get lofted into the 1st round eventually, IMO. Always happens.

usually happens, but with so many teams taking a qb in the early rounds the past 3 years, this year may be different.

True, but you never pass on a franchise QB. Colt is not, and Weeden is 29 and not. They will have Barkley, Smith, Wilson, and Bray available if they want to take a shot on a franchise QB. Or, they could trade the pick to someone that wants the top QB and make out like a boss. That is what I would do if I was Cleveland.

If I was Kansas City, I would take Smith or Barkley(whichever works into their game plan better).

The Eagles have Foles the future HOF. Get out of here with that garbage.

I agree. They'll probably have one of the first 3 picks, IMO. Trade down in round one and get a 2nd as well and they can help strengthen up the DL and OL. That has to be priority number 1. I am not sold on anyone of the QBs this season yet. I was on Barkley, but have lost some faith in him. I think Geno is a possibility as well and will probably be a top 5 pick, but with a decent QB and so many more glaring issues, I don't think either is worth the risk.

Geno comes off as more of an NFL QB to me than RGIII, but I still have questions. It would serve him well to get a good matchup in a bowl game and show out again. He's still going to have to deal with the "system" questions whether or not it is deserved.

Yea, but RG3 was in a system as well, and went #2 overall. The system argument is kind of fading away as NFL teams are spreading their teams out more and more each year. There was a time when I thought the fullback would never be phased out of the NFL like it has in college. Its starting to happen.

  • Buffalo please! We can get out of the Fitzy contract this year for nothing essentially. He literally can't hit an open WR down the field to save his life. Buffalo needs a breath of fresh air at QB.

What do you guys think about the QBs this year? Wilson, Smith, Barkeley, Jones? Where do they get picked?

Why would the Eagles draft a QB first though? Foles was a 2nd rounder and looked great in preseason. Why go 2nd then 1st the next year unless you think you blew that pick majorly? Doesn't make any sense.

Totally agree, weeden hasn't looked bad besides forcing throws for interceptions late in the game. Browns are going to have fun trading the number 1 pick and moving down to fill multiple needs like they do every other year. Oh well. It's a shame haden used adderal, Taylor got hurt, Backup Cbs getting hurt, lbs all hurt D line all hurt. Seriously the browns defense couldn't stop auburn. If they draft another qb i will eat a piece of shit har har

Maybe i'm a homer but i wouldn't sleep on weeden. His receivers suck. They need to take a receiver in the 1st round. Every game he has done something better. He is not afraid in the pocket, has great arm strength and flashed accuracy on the deep ball against the giants to go alone with solid accuracy in the mid range. His completion percentage wouldn't be so horrible if greg little didn't have 20 drops. As i said earlier he needs to learn how to keep his cool in end game situations where he overthrows or throws picks but with his improvement each week i wouldn't be suprised if he got that down too. Qbs that are halfway decent have a long shelf life in this league and weeden has a chance to still play at an elite level for 7 or so years as long as the browns surround him with a receiver that can impact instantly like T rich. T rich alone is already helping weeden out in the passing game

I'd only agree about the eagles if they decide to bench vicks sorry ass. Foles looked great this preseason and i'd think they would want to give him a shot in real time before betting the bank on a qb in the 1st round

If the Bills don't draft a QB, the city will be in open revolt. We've done so much to re-tool the rest of the team recently, the one thing we need slotted in now is a decent QB, not one who rivals Brett Favre as a gunslinger but without any of the ability to win games.

  • definately will
    Arizona
    Kansas City
    Oakland

    Most likely will
Browns - they will have the first overall and weeden is terrible
    Jaguars - gabbert is awful
Jets - sanchez and tebow arent doing anything good
    Buffalo - Fitzpatrick sucks
