Which School is Quarterback Bust U?

  • I think it is USCw right now, but FSU is gaining fast.

    bigwilly64

  • Bama and ND are also up there.

    SPrice

  • how is FSU gaining on USCW in any way? i can only think of 3 Qbs. weinke was a 3rd rounder who played for a few years. Ponder has played 2 years total and his team was awful in year 1. and brad johnson won a superbowl.

please please elaborate your thought process

  • What constitutes a bust? Guys who were drafted high and did not live up to their billing, or high rated prospects who did not live up to their star status in college?

  • Southern Cal without a doubt. The most successful USC quarterback in my lifetime is Carson Palmer. As a Bengals fan, that's all that needs to be said at how much fail has come out of the LA Coliseum.

  • Bust meaning they were 5* who didn't pan out in college or good in college but didn't pan out in the NFL?
Because ND might wear that crown on both accounts.

  • The funny thing is at least 70% of QB's that make the NFL are so called " bust " material

Most fans don't realize how hard it is to succeed in the NFL

Really Bama, FSU, Miami, UF, USCw, Ohio State, or any major power of the last 30 years.... nearly all their QB's sucked/suck in the NFL

Cause most of them are surrounded by so much talent that winning in college is really easy

Weinke had at least 2000 pass yards that were made after the catch... aka, he had nothing to do with the extra yardage

He could just toss an underhand pitch to Warrick and would get credit for a 78 yard TD pass

Vinny had his moments...but mostly sucked.

Kelly = lost 4 super bowls in a row

But yeah, those 2 are the rare ones and they weren't even that good

    Kosar had his moments too

But for the most part, QB's from the big schools don't usually adjust to having to rely on themselves in the NFL... not the incredible talent around them as they play teams with nowhere near the same amount of talent for most weeks

In the NFL, almost every week is like a top 5 matchup in college... but even more fierce than that

Weinke, the Bama kids under Saban, all of LSU's QB's, UF has a whole list of gay ones... all the big time programs produce some weak QB's

Its the guys from random ass places that succeed in the NFL more often than not

Rodgers, Colin K, RG3, Ben Rothlisburger, Flacco, I means it never ends really

If Im an NFL GM, Im maybe never taking a QB from a power program

  • Last 10 or so years? Miami without a doubt

2002- 4* Marc Guillon (fail, Bama fans know first hand)

2003- 5* Kyle Wright (number one QB, epic fail)

    2004- 4* Kirby Freeman (facepalm)

    2006- 2* Daniel Stegall (who?)

    2007- 4* Robert Marve (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

    2008- 3* Taylor Cook (who?)
    2008- 4* Jacory Harris (LOL)
2008- 3* Cannon Smith (me either?)

    2010- 3* Stephen Morris (Don't know him)

    2012- 3* Gary Crow (???)
    2012- 3* Preston Dewey (???)
    2012- 3* David Thompson (???)

    2013- 4* Kevin Olson (TBD)

Miami's lack of QB development has gone hand and hand with their fall in college football IMO. Ken Dorsey was the last guy who could play.

  • The crazy thing, is Morris has had more success than anybody on that list, and his best season was 7-5 and barely over 3000 yards

Its crazy how far Miami has fallen, its easy to fix at that school but ever since Ted Roof they have struggled to have any kind of consistency on the field and in terms of a staff

Please explain how a bunch of 3 stars and Kyle Wright trumps this list. Full of 5* fail.
