Why would the question not need to be asked. I am pretty sure that in the society we live in race shouldn't be expressed unless there is significance in expressing it.
THE FOLLOWING ISN'T INTENDED TO OFFEND:
An example would be this:
Man enjoyed miracle whip.
African American man enjoyed miracle whip.
Expressing the race would be significant because generally African American people don't like miracle whip.
Anyone can stiff arm someone else. The face that a white running back attempted it and that it coincidentally wasn't another race that attempted it and isn't significant at all...
