Who fell for the Zimmerman ruse? Show of hands ITT

  • I admit that I did. Thought they were really stepping up to the plate. Then heard the burden of proof for 2nd degree murder, and realized what they had done. Satisfy the protesters, satisfy the community, satisfy Jesse and Al. Arrest Zimmerman, charge him with 2nd degree murder, to give the appearance of doing the right thing, knowing that there is zero possibility that the state can satisfy the criteria to prove 2nd degree murder. Zimmerman will walk, justice will be served. Reasonable idea, just too obvious.

    I figure it's one of two things. Either a) they found some damning piece of evidence during their investigation, or b) they're using this as a ploy to try to get him to plead to manslaughter because they couldn't find anything more than what's already out there and they wouldn't be able to convict him in Florida based on just that.

    This might be out of protection. He has attack wounds on his head. So by law, he is innocent... racist or not. Justice has not been served, the race card however, has been played.
    The grand jury had to charge him with something or there would be race riots all over the city.
    Justice isn't standing around and screaming for someone's head. Justice is upholding the law.

    The truth of the matter is this is a bunch of crap. All of Florida is making it sound like Zimmerman just shot the kid for no reason other than he was black. That's ridiculous. Zimmerman has struggle wounds suggesting there was an altercation. All of these protests to get charges pressed on someone they don't know for killing someone they don't know are a big joke that just prove what's wrong with this country.

    Anyways, I don't think it will matter. Zimmerman, despite his innocence due to self-defense, will never make it to court because I imagine he is living in Mexico by now. Even if the charges are dropping, he is still receiving death threats along with the rest of his family. Cop cars are getting shot at Sanford now. The best thing for him to do is disappear before something happens to his family, IMHO.

    Zimmerman turned himself in yesterday.

    I'm saying Zimmerman started the fight, and it's based on the exact same information you have showing it was self defense, none.

    Witnesses say Zimmerman followed him but Travon started the fight.

    Why was he in that neighborhood? Its a gated hood right? He was trespassing, so Zimmerman had the right to follow.

    No it's not. Zimmerman has already admitted killing Martin. He is the one that has that has to prove self defense. It will go something like this, he looked like trouble, so I got out my car and chased after him so I could defend myself.

  • You guys have no idea what kind of evidence the state has. They might have 5 eye witnesses who didnt want their names in the paper intiially. I dont think anyone believes that federaly appointed prosecuter decided to just have the guy arrested on a bogus charge because of facebook twitter protests. The Sanford Police never investigated anything, They took a statement from Zimmerman and never bothered to verify anything he told them. Does his story add up? Im thinking it doesnt based on new evidence that was discovered after a legitimate investigation.

    Also,Keep in mind that there is a seperate investigation into the Police Departments handling of the investigation that night. The Police chief was basically fired and there is evidence that Zimmerman's father influenced the DA and the chief.Thats the most interesting part of this case. Did the Police think they'd be able to just sweep this thing under the rug?

    And honestly, no one saw this. He could easily have given those wounds to himself once he shot the kid.
