Who fell for the Zimmerman ruse? Show of hands ITT

I agree. Maybe he will get up on the stand, admit to trolling everyone, & enlighten us all as to what really happened that night. I have no clue what is true and what is not. I just think a manslaughter charge would have likely stuck whereas a murder charge likely won't. JMO.

I dont know if he'll have much credibility. That makes everyone elses story more than likely true. Martin may have hit him first, but it would have been after a verbal confrontation. Now that he has told half truths, it may be easy for the prosecution to paint him as the aggressor that ended yo losing a fight that he started.

Ok... I'll spin it as well.

While being attacked by a suspicious man who was more than 6 inches taller then him, Zimmerman fired off his gun in fear for his life while having his head bashed into the concrete.

That would work, but the DA probably wouldn't have charged him if they couldn't prove he had no sane reason to fear for his life (when he pulled the trigger).

(If I'm wrong, I'll let you craft me a tin-foil hat.)

Here's the kicker........... the burden of proof is on YOU! (state)

That's the difficult thing here. I honestly don't see much of a case there for the state to prosecute. Seems like legal grandstanding to me. We will see. Sad thing is no side of this issue will be "satisfied" with whateve happens in this case. Both sides have already determined their own verdict.

Whether you believe the fight occured how Zimmerman said or not, Zimmerman still [probably] shot an unarmed 140 lbs. kid when he wasn't in immediate danger any longer (distance of body). If he pulled the trigger, he's a danger to society.

How do you know how far away from the body he was?

That's the problem with the stand your ground law. I don't know how they prove or disprove his mindset. The law doesn't state it has to be a rational fear for his life. That law really means that he could have started the fight, started getting his ass kicked, felt as if his life was in danger, shot and killed Trayvon, and all is legal.

This is going to be one weird ass trial, and if Zimmerman is found not guilty, gonna get ugly.

  • Witnesses, 3 of them, also saw Zimmerman on Trayvon's back. 2 of these witnesses allegedly were told to call the cops by Zimmerman.

They also said that he was just walking around, and not trying to assist the young man, while he was obviously dying.

Has his defense team really stepped down because they could never find him?

Zimmerman's defense stepped down. Didn't hear a reason for it, but he has a new defense now.

That's what they said yesterday. They had called, e-mailed, and faxed, Zimmerman and he did not respond, therefore they could no longer represent him. One of them said people could quit looking for Zimmerman in Florida because he was a long ways away from there. That wasn't true, as Zimmerman turned himself in. Also, kind of dumb to say they lost contact and couldn't find him, and in basically the same breath say that they knew he was a long ways away. Feedback I have heard said his attorneys were idiots and completely in the wrong to come on tv and make that announcement

    Yes it does.

It uses the word "reasonable" several times.

If you look at the video, he either has no wounds or very tiny wounds. Either way it isn't enough to convince me he was in fear of his life.

And honestly, no one saw this. He could easily have given those wounds to himself once he shot the kid.

No witness is to Zimmerman's advantage. He's story is plausible, so if the ballistics/forensics do not negate what Zimmerman said, then you cannot convict him. Remember, the burden of proof is on the DA (innocent until proven guilty).

Which story are they going with? Zimmerman has told many of them...

No it wouldn't have. A guy shot and killed a 17 year old. This case wasn't "disappearing".

If his parents didn't keep up the fight and help from black leaders like Al Sharpton I don't think Zimmerman is charged with anything.

  • lets ask this, would there be as much outrage if Trevon did this to Zimmerman? if not then there is where we have the problems. would the KKK be able to rally money to head hunt Trevon? would some Nazi skin head organisation be able to threaten blood shed on the streets? all wothout getting into any trouble or have their motives questioned? or shoot up police cars?

Chris rock said in his comedy show. When your in power you get to complain less.

Like how fat people can make fun of skinny people, yet skinny people get alot of trouble for making fun of fat people. Same with poor middle class people can make fun of the rich, but the rich can't really make fun of poor.

White people who have more advantages than blacks can't complain about theses stuff.
Why the outrage about this? Zimmerman murdered a boy in cold blood, and should be charged for it that's all.

Don't compare it to any other case or trial.

thats exactly my point. the kid is dead and non of us were there to know if it was murder or self defence.

my question is. why is it tollerable to have Black Panther parties gathering money and offering a bounty on the mans head.

when you and i both know if it were the KKK going after a black mans head it would not be tolerated!

it is just as ignorant from both sides. education is key and our country definately has a lack of it.

  • Let me ask this. Do you really think a black teen could follow a guy around, then chase him on foot.....then claim self defense? If it happened the other way, martin would be in jail and thayer would be no story.

This became a story because the guy was never arrested, not because a black kid was killed. You kill any 17 year old that didn't bother you and doesn't have a weapon and it'll be a story. Especially if you aren't arrested.

  • Angela Corey is the prosecutor in this case. coffee

"Corey, 57, has made waves for the number of cases she brings to trial. She's also rejected heated criticism, particularly over her prosecution of a 12-year-old boy for murder. Corey is trying him as an adult."

"The state attorney overseeing the probe into the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin is known in Florida as a tough prosecutor ready to pursue what she believes is right, even in the face of media glare and public pressure."

"Corey has described Martin's family as "lovely people." She said she has met with them and prayed with them and promised to get them answers."

"Three petitions on the website change.org, calling for her to be removed from office, have about 2,500 signatures combined. One complains that she prosecutes too many cases without adequate regard for the facts."
