Tressell still has the "show cause" tag on him. Butch Davis doesn't. Doubt it will be either, but Butch wouldn't shock me I suppose.

It's been confirmed that Tressel and Haslam have met multiple times. Initially they spoke about the UT gig but mutually agreed it wasn't a fit. The subsequent meetings were about Tressel potentially taking a role with the Browns (not as HC).

Saw all of that. Then read a ton of other tweets saying he was staying. The consensus appears to be that he is torn. I hate it for the Louisville players. He brought them all in there to get to a BCS bowl, and a better conference, and now he is possibly packing up camp after he achieved the goal. Like a stepping stone.

I think the UT administration has a bad taste in their mouth after the whole Saban disciple situation we had this past few years.

Most would rather go the opposite direction. Great coach though. Seems like a more finely tuned version of Muschamp.

^^^ This ^^^ But with all these coaches turning down UT there has to be a story behind the scenes. I understand Gruden not taking it...I understand Gundy turning the lights off....but Strong??....For Louisville....really? I could be wrong but there's an untold story lingering here. Dooley was supposedly their 4th option and now they are on their 4th option with this hire. The UT job is a very good job. Storied tradition, big time money, good facilities, the SEC, a passionate but frustrated fan base and nobody wants to touch this job....so you can't tell me there's not a story behind the scenes. Just sayin'
