Who is Tennessee's next HC?

    ^^^ This ^^^ But with all these coaches turning down UT there has to be a story behind the scenes. I understand Gruden not taking it...I understand Gundy turning the lights off....but Strong??....For Louisville....really? I could be wrong but there's an untold story lingering here. Dooley was supposedly their 4th option and now they are on their 4th option with this hire. The UT job is a very good job. Storied tradition, big time money, good facilities, the SEC, a passionate but frustrated fan base and nobody wants to touch this job....so you can't tell me there's not a story behind the scenes. Just sayin'

    Over the past 5 years, there has been a serious struggle with academics and athletics. Our Chancellor has been restricting the athletic department on who they can recruit based on how well those students do in high school to try in bring in athletes that could contribute towards his goal of a top 25 research facility.

    This clearly has not worked as no coach wants to go somewhere where the University is telling them who they can recruit. You could never implement your full system as the coach with such hindrances. Hart is trying to fix this issue but it has been a struggle.

    Jimmy Cheek needs to wake up or this program will sleep for a lot longer. I've heard he's been a thorn in the Athletic Dept side. I guess it's showing it's trueness now.

    Funny how this game works....In Fulmers hayday you were winning 10 games a year but not enough titles so you get to a point where 10 wins is just not enough. Then you get to this point and your begging for a 10 win season just to feel good again. I'm almost 40 and i certainly remeber the bad years at Bama...I wouldnt trade the success we're having now for anything and I never really felt like Saban would leave anytime soon but what happens to a fan base when you play for all these titles then go through a stretch of 10 win season but no championships.....then 10 wins is not enough to feed the Bama fan base.....is that when Saban grows tired of the expectations. Who knows...Hopefully I wont find out for many years. I'll just keep enjoying this run we're on because it can change overnight.

    I think all the people saying no to Auburn and Tennessee means coaches don't view these jobs the same way fans do. Fans think about the Vols going head to head with the Tide and Gators. Of Manning throwing TDs and Fulmer winning trophies. But maybe coaches look at the Vols and see a program with the 3rd or 4th best local recruiting area in it's own division and a fanbase that won't be happy unless you are fighting for the top of the SEC every year. And if everyone is throwing around stupid money maybe it's better to get filthy rich, win 10 games and stay employed at Okie State or Louisville than get rich and get fired for winning 10 games but losing to UF and Bama in Knoxville.
