Who is the most underrated 2013 recruit?

  • Don't just give a name, at least give some explanation to why you think so. Also don't flame an opposing teams recruits.

    This is fresh in my head but I think Smoke Mizzell needs a serious bump in his ranking, he looks like an extremely versatile back that can hurt a team in many ways.

    Also Tyler Boyd should get some love too, he got heavily targeted today against top notch DBs and had a lot of success.

    I agree with where you are going, but he is ranked as the 3rd pro style qb and I think that is where he should be. Should he move up in the overall rankings? I think so, but not enough to make him the most underrated.

  • I'm gonna go with Adam Lane. Kid had a beast sophomore year and ran for 400 yards the game before tearing his ACL early in his Jr year. Muschamp liked him over Henry, Bryant and the rest of the Florida runningbacks, enough to accept his commitment before seeing him back 100%.

    I was just messing with you. I think Hackenberg is at worst the #2 QB, but that still doesn't make him underrated.

    I agree with you on your choices though, I really like Boyd.

  • I'm gonna go with Alex Collins led Broward in rushing with over 1600 yards and 24 TDs in his first full year playing football has good size at 5'11 210. Most sites have him as a low four star I think he is better than that.

    They were saying that Boyd and Hack really hit it off and that Boyd would be checking out Penn State soon. All I could think was, great.

  • Ezekiel Elliot. He's the best player in the state of Missouri in my opinion and one of the best RBs in the Midwest. He'll stand out his Senior year and will shoot up into the top 247. Great bloodlines to boot.

  • cord sandberg. 3 star from manatee in Florida. 7a player of the year and 3rd in voting expect Florida player of the year. lead them to state championship and has been a starter for 3 years. put up some great numbers and has got to be a top 2 or 3 dual threat qb in the nation. also a miss state commit

    i agree with delta on cord sandberg. would have liked FSU to take him but were loaded at qb and he doesnt fit our system. he should fit in very well at MSU. he seems like a perfect fit for Mullen's offense

  • Hard to really say any 4* kid is underrated, even if he's a 90 (like Boyd, who IMO is a very good athlete).

    As much as I dislike ND, John Montelus is a very good OL, and Devin Butler has a very impressive offer list.

    There's a kid from Hawaii who has like 50 offers that people always say is underrated when these topics come up. Can't remember his name.

    If we're talking current commits, then I think Andrew Nelson would be the most underrated. He's reportedly very, very athletic. I don't believe analysts have seen him in person, so I don't take his rating too seriously right now. Brendan Mahon deserves to be a 4* at worst.

  • the kid from hawaii i think your talking about is scott pagano i believe he is currently a 3* prospect, i thought i read on another thread he struggled at the rivals 100 but it seems alot of people are very high on him as a prospect

  • Berkley Edwards from Chelsea, MI.

    Some stats show he has clocked in the 4.4 range in the 40 (hand timed) and YouTube videos show him running a 4.52 forty at the Army combine even though he stumbled off the line, so he has legit speed. His dad (Stan Edwards) and brother (Braylon) both made it to the NFL, so the genetic pool isn't too shabby.

    He gets knocked mainly because of his size (5-9, making people think he won't be a durable back) and competition level in high school, which leads to a pretty generic 3* rating on all the sites. His highlights are pretty impressive though and he really seems to me like an underrated prospect.

  • Khaliel Rodgers: 247 has him ranked as the #24 OG in the country yet he has dominated at every camp includung the rivals 100. Although, rivals does have him ranked as the #1 OG.
