Wow, I know he is your namesake and all, but that is a bold statement. I enjoyed Mr Perfect immensely but I can't discount The Honky Tonk Man or Chris Jericho in the argument of Greatest IC of All Time.

Honky Tonk had the longest reign and Jericho has the most, these would have to top my list as greatest IC of all time.

Just playing devil's advocate here to create discussion, I really have no dog in the race.

Perfect was the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of the '90s.

He was a much better performer in the ring than Honky Tonk Man.

Jericho may have the most separate reigns, but Perfect's total in terms of days as Intercontinental Champion is more than Jericho's.

Mr. Perfect and Chris Jericho are neck and neck, IMO.

Jericho and Perfect are also the most underrated wrestlers of all time. Both had elite in ring skills, and both had awesome mic skills. Both could make the crowd either love them, or hate them so much that the fans wanted them to die.

That is what makes a great wrestler.

    Sting
    Raven
    Jericho
    Perfect
    HBK

Those are my top 5 favorites of all time.

Anyone remember Jericho making fun of "The Man of 1000 Holds", Dean Malenko? Well... Jericho knows 1004 holds, and he wrote them down.lol

Honky Tonk Man is not even in the same zip code as Mr. Perfect skill wise, in ring ability, nothing. Jericho & Mr. Perfect may be debatable. But HTM? No f****n way! The only reason he had the I.C title as long as he did, was they had no one else to put it on. That seems to be the only logical explanation. HTM was a glorified jobber dressed as Elvis imo.

  • Ravens best work came in ECW. Raven was great in ring on the mic everything. He actually walked out of WCW because of all the back stage stuff in the middle of a meeting with Bischoff no less. Went back to ECW until it closed & then Vince shit the bed with his handling of the character. Stone Cold even said in his book that WWE missed the boat big time with Raven.

+1 for you sir. Both points make sense. Now for my rebuttal. biggrin

For a single reign, yes Perfect was it, but total days held was Razor Ramon during the 90s, which is the measurement you used to put Perfect above Jericho. But you stated "all time", not during the 90s, therefore discounting Honky Tonks 454 or Macho Mans 414 day reigns (both of which beat Perfects combined total days as champion) isn't a fair measurement of "all time", is it?

Ring performance, you got me, Perfect was superior to Honky Tonk, before and during WWF in the ring, but Razor Ramon and Macho Man had equal, if not superior ring performance than Mr Perfect.

As for the Greatest Manager comment of "The Brain", I can't argue. He would top my list as well, although Cornett would be a close 2nd for me. That is just my NWA/WCW bias though.
