Who makes it #7??

  • Who is the favorite to make it 7 in a row?

Gotta think if Mettenberger doesn't screw the pooch, LSU has a great shot. Return a ton.

Bama will compete, but will need some youth to develop on defense next year.

UGA could make a run if Crowell gains some toughness.

Arkansas loses a lot of skill, but Kniles Davis will be back and Wilson should as well.

USCe would be a strech, but the defensive front gets better. DBs will be a big question and the offense needs to come along to give Lattimore some help.

    BetterOff

  • I'd go with LSU.

  • Watch out for USC. They're going to be utterly loaded, and similar to their Pete Carroll teams - most of which were better than the best SEC teams. No one in the ACC, Big 12, or Big East look to have a title contender. I hope the big 10 dies and refuse to acknowledge anyone that garbage conference has a shot to win a fake title.

  • LSU and Georgia should have the best squads in the SEC next year. Arkansas will again have a great offense.

I think Alabama will be very good, but I'm sensing a 10-2 type of season.

Are they joining the SEC? Missed that, but it would be nice to have Lane back. I feel we barely got to know him.

    BetterOff

  • Next year America will finally see SC v the SEC in the mythical title game. SC v LSU is long overdue. It should've happened in 2003 and 2007.

I'd suggest that USC is the favorite next year, with Bama rebuilding their D, and LSU having to replace Randle as well as a couple of defensive studs.

I think Barkley comes back actually, and he'll be the best QB in America, and he'll also have the 2 best WRs in America, a bunch of stud RBs/Lineman, and a Defense that's finally finding it's groove. That's the danger of USC. They have elite athletecism on D, and if they can finally start playing well there, they have the best collection of offensive talent in America.

Possibly if Barkley returns. If not, I go with Oregon in the PAC12 again.

  • Would be impressive if LSU wins the SEC next year. It's tough to maintain this level two years in a row. Plus teams always rise up that you don't expect to reach that level.

Nobody thought Florida would lose in 09 returning everything that they did.

Barkley leaves. It would be great to see him stay, but I doubt he will. I really question PAC12 skill players. Oregon's skill looks unreal against PAC12 defenses, but looked average against LSU and Auburn. Auburn's defense wasn't any good either.

  • I like us to compete next year. We are going to land DGB, Knile comes back. 4 Starters on the OL, Wilson comes back.

We get bama at home with a new defense and we get LSU at home. USCe on the road will be tough.

    However, LSU will repeat.

Oregon actually didn't have any great playmakers other than James and DeAnthony Thomas. I do like their one reciever Huff, but it's their system that makes the difference there.

The USC play makers are completely on a different level though. These guys are generally all highly recruited kids, and they've looked very good. Oregon's D was actually pretty good even against LSU, and USC's O just flew past them.

I question if Georgia has the offensive playmakers to beat elite defenses. That was their huge issue against LSU. You need people who can plays even against good D.

  • From the SEC, I would have to say LSU will be the team to beat for the title next year. They return just about everyone. UA loses too much this year to make a real run - maybe 10-3 next year. That said, if Barkley comes back (doubt he will) USC would be my pick to get it.
