Who thinks roids are being used......

  • Who thinks roids are being used at a very high rate in college football? If I had to guess it would be alarming to many people how much they are being used. It would only be a guess. I don't know if anyone takes them for sure. I did have a friend who played college football and finished two years ago tell me something interesting. A grad assistant at a certain program is being paid under the table to supply them to the players. If this is true and if it really happens then that would make certain programs part of a drug ring. I know the NCAA test for the stuff but if I had to guess there ways around it.

    What do you guys think?

FYI... It was not a program in the state of Alabama.

  • Well if Florida was using them the last two seasons they weren't using them effectively.

I am sure there are some players that use them but I have no idea how widespread it is.

  • LOL, Wasn't Florida

  • I think that our guys use them. We are always much bigger than every other team.

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

  • Roids and money are less prevalent than most think IYAM. I was alright friends with Robert Meachem in college, we smoked weed together, and he was poor as crap. Never had money.

He was an out of state 5* recruit from Oklahoma that Tennessee had to fight the sooners of for going into NSD. If he didn't get paid few people did.

  • Back in the Pete Carroll days there were several players that were obviously juicing. He didn't encourage it but they didn't police it either.

I know at least one player that juiced in Carroll's day who stopped under orders when Kiffin took over and he lost his starting job.

    Looks like another perfect day.

  • Having played CFB and then worked in s&c at two other programs, it is very prevalent and is so everywhere.

its around in every program, but the number of players that use is small. testing is more strict these days, usually guys on the roids you can tell who they are in football that is

  • Yes LSU and Bama are always noticeably bigger than other teams, coincidence?

    cuznchips28

  • You guys are a joke. We are just better than all of you so you have to come up with a reason, why we destroy all of you.

Do you know anything about the testing protocol? You have to be a complete idiot to fail a drug test.

  • It definitely happens and anyone who thinks it doesn't is foolish. I worked in the recruiting office at Alabama in '99 and '00 and I know with 100% certainty that some players were juicing. Ironically, a couple of them barely played a down in four years.

I am very skeptical when I hear about coaches providing steroids to players. A lot of coaches will break a lot of rules, but I have a hard time believing any would risk going to federal prison over such a thing.

I'm skeptical about that story also. My friend is not one to lie and really has zero reasons to do so.

For all the crying bama fans did you forget to read the "It was not a program in the state of Alabama". So sensitive

  • Most kids IYAM. It's not natural for 17 year olds to be 6-6 320 pounds, something has to be going on way too many monsters for it not to be going down.

  • My roomate at Bama played and was a starter for a few years toward the end of the Shula era and into the Saban era. Knew a lot of the players and even worked out with them some, never heard or saw any "juicing". My friend was 160 entering college and graduated around 205. He put on 35lbs of muscle but he also worked his tail off. I'm sure some guys do it, but I don't think it is a big conspiracy by Coach Saban to juice up all the players, that would have gotten out by now.

You usually don't hear why a player has been suspended, but a violation of team rules usually means they tested positive for something.

Now? Yeah if you take hgh instead of something like dianabol you shouldn't, but I went through the NCAA testing procedure two years ago, not hard to fail. Also to answer the op, yes it's prevalent.

  • I'd say in big time football not that much. Football players get a ft strength coach & dietician (sp). I played college baseball & can tell u it is WAY more common in baseball. Also it was funny the school I went to had a huge problem w/ roids in the mens tennis program.
