Who was the better Alabama QB? McElroy '10 or McCarron '11?

  • aumajorpain said...

Alabama's schedule was a joke last year, they only played two good teams. So all these jokes on USC's schedule are quite uneducated, but that would be appropriate for some of you fools.

Penn state was a bull shit PI call away from clinching the leaders before we even played wisky...our offense was pitiful but our defense dominated every game minus bama until the team gave up mid Wisconsin game and . While I'm not saying we were great we were better

right, but in an SEC mindset, you were shit.

Here are their respective stats vs ranked teams:

    GMac '10 - 134/190 1,785 yards, 12 TDs, 4 INTs (70.5% completions)

    AJ '11 - 54/82 633 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT (65.8% completions)

lolLooks close from where I sit.

    G Mac 2010 = 3 losses and bowl win
AJ Mac 2011 = 1 loss and a National Championship.

    Your right. Not even close.

Well in 2008 when Oklahoma had their record breaking offensive season they played 2 top 50 defenses. No one really talks a whole lot about that. Name another great offense or defense and I can do some research on those teams as well. It is very seldom teams go and play a bunch of power houses constantly.

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

  • Well, when all this comes back full circle, after all the talk about our one dimensional offense, our overrated defense, our terrible schedule..........it all comes back to this. Kiss the ring bitches.

that's because being good on offense is sexy and being good on defense is whatever, from the view of uneducated dumb fans. the earlier link provided gave a completely unbiased way to rate a defense based off of whoever they played. it even accounted for different eras and SOS. and proved that in the last 30-40 years 2011 Bama had at worst the 2nd best defense during that time. One could even argue that bama is even better due to the nature of offenses of today being way more complex than in the 3 yards and a cloud of dust days of the 60s and 70s.

another fun stat for 2011 bama:

bama's defense was the only defense in the country whose opponents averaged a 3 and out every possession (less than 10 yards every 3 plays). think about that. to put this stat into perspective, this has never been done at least over the past 12 seasons (as far back as stats go at the ncaa website). the closest team over that timespan to do it was 1999 miss st. who barely missed it

and, bama's defensive yards per play given up was by far the best in the country. actually 19% better than 2nd ranked, LSU.

    Absolutely filthy.

    LSU played Oregon WV Arkansas

    Bama played shit.

You're a fool if you think that who and what they played against doesn't matter.

We Blindkids University and not give up a point and it would be the same argument you are making right now.

Offenses with Jordan Jefferson, Clint Moseley, Chris Relf, John Brantley, and whoever the fvck QB'ed Ole Miss/Penn State/Vandy/etc. aren't anything close to what you would consider "complex".

The QB play in the SEC this year was probably the worst it has been in 25 years.

I would take Jimmy Smith, Special Olympics Starting Qb for the East, over Clint Moseley or Jordan Jefferson.

  • 2011 Bama's defense is what happens when 2010 Bama loses Cam Newton, Darvin Adams, Alshon Jeffrey, Marcus Lattimore, Knile Davis, and Ryan Mallett off its schedule.

hmmm. those players weren't around 3 years ago either, or 4 years ago, or 5 years ago, or etc. And somehow the stats Bama put up this year have never happened before in CFB except maybe once in the 70's. Hmmmmmm

Yes, thank you for making my point for me. Again. The offenses in the SEC were worse than they've been in 25 years. Coincidentally, that matches up with how god awful QB play was in the league this year.

For the record, no Bama fan can say shit about Darvin Adams.
