We are exactly 1 week to the NFL draft. Now I could look at the Mock Drafts, but by the looks of it, those guys aren't really close for a lot of the teams. So I interested in who you think your team will draft.
For the Bills, we are picking at #10. All the mock drafts are saying Reilly Reiff and Michael Floyd, I would be surprised if the Bills went with either of those guys. The Bills need a WR, and LT but our GM Buddy Nix says that those positions are very deep in the draft.
I think the Bills go Stephon Gilmore at #10 which I love. Big, fast, physical, can play the run, with long arms. Yes please.

You're a Bills fan? Right on!
Buddy Nix was just on Buffalo radio talking about the pick, sounds like he loves Gilmore and Kirkpatrick. I know a lot of people don't put much stock into what GM's say leading up to the draft but Nix has a history of being very honest before the draft.
Seems like he thinks he can get a capable tackle at 41, and personally I think the value is probably better at #41 than #10. If we do go tackle at #10 I think it will be Glenn from Georgia.
One thing you can bank on, for the most part Buddy is drafting guys from the SEC, he loooves the South.

My entire family is from Buffalo. Been to many games at Ralph Wilson. Love that dump of a town.
I usually don't mind our draft positions, I just hate seeing guys leave town after four, five yeara because they want a bigger contract. We have one cheap-ass front office.

It's because we have sucked recently. Back in the Jim Kelly days Bills attracted top guys, instead of top guys leaving to get money. Just need to win games, I think we are on the right track.
At least we finally spent some money this year, and I think getting Mario Williams will pay dividends. Premier pass rushers are invaluable, and pair him with Dareus (monster), and Kyle Williams (playmaker), and another Bamer Mark Anderson (pass rusher) it will be huge. That's why I want some corners to go with that line. If you have a pass rush, and good corners, it's tough to move the ball.

Two Bills fans...nice.
I'm going to go with Floyd or Gilmore, in that order. That's fine if Nix says the draft is deep, but IMO that doesn't mean jack. All that matters is how good they think Floyd is. If they're sitting on the board at 10, and Floyd is the best prospect on their board, are they really going to take a lesser prospect at another position simply because they think they could get a WR later on? Bird in the hand worth two in the bush and all that.
I've actually done an analysis (it was a follow-up to one I did last year) on Nix and how he drafts, using his time in San Diego as an indicator. I posted it on another message board, but it was picked up by someone and he's going to post an article on his website soon. I'll link it when he does.

Right on psubills. I love Nix's draft style, and he usually does go BPA. Spiller was a perfect example, and lots like to ridicule that pick, but Spiller looked great once Freddy Jack went down.
We literally ran to the podium for Spiller, spent I think a minute out of the 15 allotted.

TBH I don't know a lot about Gilmore, but the guys I respect seem to like him a lot. Mayock loves him, same with Cosell and those are the two guys who care more about tape, than draft projections.
To me, Dre is very physical, big, but I question whether he can make enough plays in man coverage to be worth #10. I just want a big physical corner though, someone who can step up and make a play in the run game. I know Dre can do that very well.

Nix loves to draft CB's early and often. I think 5 of his 9 first round picks in SD were CB's. He also tends to draft at least two WR's a year after he drafts zero (which we did last year - no WR's taken). Even though it's against his M.O., I think he'll draft an OT early as well. He's only ever drafted one OT in the top 3 rounds - Marcus McNeill. Never taken an OT in the first round, but due to need I think it's a possibility - just not a very good one.

I agree with what you said exactly. Speaking of McNeil I wouldn't mind offering him a 1 year deal after the draft to provide some experience, and perhaps start and show Hairston the ropes a little bit. He's an injury risk no doubt, but if he is healthy he can be an asset to a team lacking tackles.
I think it's Floyd vs. Gilmore vs. Kirkpatrick round 1, with an outside shot at Glenn.

I agree. There are often OL out there that I'd like the Bills to sign, and sometimes I wonder why they don't. McNeill is one of them - but the fact that no other teams have shown interest in him is also cause for concern. Last year it was Mark LeVoir who I wanted them to sign.
I'm torn on Kirkpatrick. I think he's on their board, but there seem to be issues with his decision making (off the field, mostly) that the Bills might mark him down for. On the other hand, they LOVE experienced players, which may give Kirkpatrick an extra boost.
Pretty much agree with that - Floyd, Gilmore, Kirkpatrick, Glenn. Glenn has all the measurables and starting experience they look for.
