Outside of the ridiculous statement about handling SCs O-line you're actually making an argument that everything is fairly equal. SC is returning 4/5 starters that kept Barkley very clean last year so it's not exactly like it's going to be a cake walk for any D-line including LSU's.

Game is a long way away if it were to happen. I can say though that is USC only brings 43 scholarship athletes like they did against Oregon, it probably won't come down to a FG.
I don't think USC gets to the game as I think they split with Oregon in 2 games this year and everyone on FightOn will tell you a 1 loss USC has no shot in the polls.

Some responses:
TrojanWarrior1: "No "offense", however, out here on the west coast we refer to "balanced" as having an offense. LSU simply does not have a balanced offense. Just my opinion, however, USC, would throttle LSU...just like they do to every other OOC high profile team they play.'
Rkinslow: "I think losing Brockers ,Claiborne, and Taylor will really hurt."
"Your offense was a joke. Sure, you've got a JUCO coming in, but you will struggle to throw the ball. Nice power running game though."
"I would absolutely love to face you guys or Alabama. We will hang half a hundred on anybody."
Randy88Moss: "USC 78 LSU 5 End of discussion"

Interesting. Just about everyone on your homeboard would say you don't have a chance with one loss, especially if there are other undefeated or one-loss teams.
Still think it ends up being Bama/LSU vs either OU/WVU or FSU. One of the latter 3 will be undefeated, IMO and I'd say 50/50 that either Bama or LSU are as well.
Love the USC offense, but either one against Oregon or a slip up due to depth at some position costs them. And no, I am saying that because everyone says USC always loses a game they shouldn't.
USC has a solid interior along the OL. OT is not a huge strength this year but not a weakness either. As mentioned, Barkley's ability to get rid of the ball makes that a wash. A team like Stanford or Oregon will really test the defense up the middle as well. Stanford with a power game and Oregon with option and the threat of someone outside like DAT. Overall the defense is better than people think, IMO. Need Uko (sp?) to step up and the DBs to make more plays, but it is really a solid defense.

most people who post on CFB message boards don't have much foresight.
on another board last year, during the bowl season, I said that if USC returns it's seniors we would be pre-season #1. 100% of everyone disagreed with me, and said I was just being a dumb homer. We lost 2 of those 4 seniors and we are still pre-season #1.

I wonder how many people of those people who picked USC #1 actually think they have the best team and how many of those people just recognize USC plays in an incredibly weak conference and has an incredibly weak schedule. LOL at anybody who actually thinks USC has the best team

I honestly don't care much about pre-season polls either way. I do my own top-25 each week, and I am pretty much resigned to ranking the winner of Bama vs Michigan #1 in week 2. Though in my poll, previous week rankings don't really factor in. I re-rank each week based on body of work, as opposed to these no-nothing pollsters who simply start with a pre-season poll and move up and down from there.

Not sure how we're supposed to resist. I was actually having a good time talking football with a few there, until it became a declaration that USC would have won 10 championships in a row if not for ESPN's meddling.

Come on man, you know TW was bullshittin' about that.
Who would win in a potential LSU vs. USC championship game?
