Who's going to be the biggest surprise this year?

The opposite of my "biggest disappointment" thread. Who's going to be the team that comes out of nowhere, like Houston last year. Or even Michigan. I think it'll be Tennessee. I've got them going 9-3. They have a great offense, lead by Tyler Bray. I also think their defense will improve under Sal Sunseri. I'd also watch out for SMU, as they look like the most probable BCS buster, imo.

Agree with you. I also think Tennessee will win 9 games and not too many people were happy about that in my SEC Predictions thread yesterday.

maybe more than one...defense will be bad but their offense might be something to fear week in and week out
The PAC 12 might get a few teams upset by Leach and Co.

I'm definitely a texas homer, but I think we will surprise a lot of people this year.
we were a few points away from a 10 win season last year with a freshman qb, rbs , receivers, new coaches and schemes everywhere ..
I think this year things come back into place, 10+ wins .

Tennessee will have a good offense, but their defense will be their un-doing.. They dont have the talent, espically in the secondary to compete at a high level..

I have to agree, I know you guys have plenty of talent but QB is why I'm a little hesitant to say you'll win 10+. If whoever plays QB plays well you'll win 10 at the least.

i agree oregon is good and it will be a good game but usc is loaded this yr, that passing attack will be tough...

not sure they will win 9 but do think they will win 8 games this year - should be much better than the last couple of years for sure

Solid LB corps, Melba toast at CB. Boyett can play but can't cloud both sides of the field. Someone will be one on one.

Tennessee's defense has talent but it's young, strong safety is a question and also the #2 corner, everything else should be good. But to answer the surprise question I'll go with Tennessee and Utah.

Just honestly, Florida State.
We are so deep and talented and our schedule is so weak it just has to finally happen. If anything we're going to go 12-2 and folks act like we should have done better.
