my wife brought up a good point tonight after reading this post. What if they had a WIAA? CIAA is in Charlotte every year. Black colleges are celebrated but what if it was a "white" college? Not by stereotype but by name? That's what almost all, if not all, colleges in the CIAA are. How would that go over?

it's called Country Music Television NOT White Entertainment Television. Look up the founder of BET and his intentions for starting that channel vs the guy who came up with CMT. Your point sounds good in theory but is off base.

I don't understand your argument. BET was founded (and named) in 1980. Why even bring up "what ifs" here when something like that would never, ever happen? In 1980, every single other media outlet was essentially white people television. It was a way for African-Americans to watch entertainment geared specifically toward music/news/variety that the majority of their genre enjoyed back then.

I know about the guy who started up BET, and his intentions for it. He started BET back in the early 80's I believe, because MTV was not showing very many black videos on TV, so he started the channel so that our music could get on TV and the rest is history. So do you think the channel should be deleted since those times have passed now. Plus BET shows videos and shows with people of different races quiet a bit on the channel.
