I don't get it. Really, I don't. Slavery was over a long time ago. Everything is so PC these days and it doesn't sit well with me. My black friends and I talk about this all the time. It's bull

No, I personally never had that. In fact, that was in my grandfather's generation. I asked him about and he laughed. He, and my family, are Native American. I guess we can save that discrimination and equality for a different thread though.
Just the fact that we still recognize people as "white" and "black" just shows that a racial divide still exists. Hopefully, one day we can look past this and have intelligent discussions towards moving past all the ignorance. This brings us back to the original topic of this thread: why can't we have such discussions now?

Every one is a little racist, in some way shape or form. It's human nature. The thing is that people get WAY to emotional over things that were in no way meant to be offensive. I understand the reason for PC, but it has gotten out of control. And before anyone says, "but I was offended by what so and so said", realize that when you live in a country that has the freedom of speech, sometimes some one is going to say something you don't like.
White, Black, Yellow, Green, it doesn't matter. We're all the same. In any group\society you have good and you have bad. Race changes nothing. Oh and by the way, your not African American, because I'm not European American, your an American. When a black guy wins the gold medal in the olympics they don't say that he was from "The United States of Africa America". He's from America.
Theres a double standard in this country. Theres a black history month, which I think is great! there are to many people who don't get the recognition they deserve, black history month helps to fix that. Yet if I suggest a white history month I'm a racist, neo Naz, grand dragon of the KKK.
No idea why I went of on that little tanget, but it's over now.
