Why do people hate Tom Brady so much?

  • From what I've heard Michael Jordan is the biggest dick on planet earth and this is from VERY viable sources.

Just about everyone likes Montana, Rice, and Barry Sanders. Even MJ is liked in, of all places, Detroit. "Haters" usually have a good reason for "hating"

Haters hate because they are haters. They do not know any of these people personally. Montana, Rice, and Sanders were all very private individuals and did very little in public outside of playing the game yet they still had haters. Maybe less than many but they were there. MJ had and has a ton of haters.

    I respectfully disagree. Brady's best season was 50 TDs, 8 int, 4800 yards in 2007. Montana's best season was 26 TDs, 8 int, 3521 yards in 1989.

I'll take the 2007 Brady if I have to pick one for one game. Speaking of, how awesome would it be to see the 89 niners and the 07 patriots face off?

Edit: just realized that Brady had 201 more pass attempts than Montana in this comparison. That has to be accounted for.

And you believe that Montana's talents wouldn't translate into big stats in today's NFL where defensive players cannot hit WRs and QBs?

Brady would quit if he were sacked 8 times in three quarters. Montana responded by throwing 4 TDs in the 4th quarter. That Eagle team's defensive line was Reggie White, Clyde Simmons, Mike Golic and Jerome Brown. Brady had his opportunities to get it done against a similar Giant front and failed twice on the big stage.

Hell, did you see his HOF speech? The guy can't even be gracious and friendly for 5 minutes.

No doubt that was awful. Flew in his HS teammate to tell him the coach make a mistake and he should have started over the teammate.

I was a fan of Jordan when I was a little kid and I watched Space Jam. Since then, I've just disliked him more and more every year.

The guy can't seem to be grateful for a second about the gift he's been given in the form of his athletic talents. I have no doubt that the chip on his shoulder is part of the reason he was so driven to be the best, but dude - chill. He really needs to take a step back - he could've been one of the most beloved athletes of all time, but instead he just retreated within himself and lashes out at everyone.

This exactly. He's my favorite player of all time and even I would have loved for him to show an ounce of humbleness and humility. Not much, just some.

Montana in his prime was the greatest QB to ever play NFL football, there's no question he would dominate the same, if not more, in today's game. He took Montana in a one game scenario so I simply took Brady for arguments sake.

"Haters" usually have a good reason for "hating"

The only questionable thing I can say about Rice is when he was an up and comer we asked him along with 14 other NFL players to come to a big Kids-with-Character camp. At the time this camp was a pretty big deal for us. Out of all 15, Rice was the only one who asked if compensation would be provided. There wasn't so he declined. Does that make him a POS? No, not fair to judge him on that alone. There could have been several reasons he didn't come in the end.

  • Prolly a combination of jealousy, being associated with Belichick, and the Patriots usually beating the team someone cheers for. I get the dislike for Belichick, but not Brady. Men want to be him (secretly even if they claim to hate him) and women want to be with him.

    Montana > Brady

    Smart man.

And the 89' 49'ers would destroy the 07' Pats IMO. That team was absurdly, over-kill deep. The early 90's C'boy teams would do likewise.

because everyone else was at least polite... Especially since I was asked to attend the game, by the GM of the Tampa Yankees (the Yankees farm team) and he was literally doing nothing as I said, afternoon Mr Jeter and he rolled his eyes and walked away...
