Why do people hate the Saints

    I honestly think the Saints are the ones that got caught. No way were they the only ones doing things like this.

    The suspensions have less to do with the actual incidence, and more to do with way management responded to the NFL afterward. I have not read the investigative summary, but there are allegations of lying to investigators. Also, I think the bounty system kept going for a couple years after they were told specifically to stop. I am a Falcons fan. I don't hate the Saints. There is a natural opinion backlash whenever something like this happens. What if I said "whats with all the Falcons hate?" after the dog killer got busted? It is only natural.

  • I hate the Saints because of the "feel good story". A hurricane has absolutely zero to do with the game of football and while it was unfortunate, I don't really care. So many people across the country hopped on the bandwagon because they felt bad for the city. Terribly annoying. I guess it's fine if local citizens of New Orleans "needed the team" after Katrina, but the rest of America didn't need to join in for the annoying story.

  • First of all, when you are reduced to the rather obnoxious excuse that "other people are doing it." you have reached the bottom of the ethical barrel. Unless you have proof that other people are doing it, you are saying nothing.

    The issue with the Saints is, that they are run by arrogant idiots that honestly believe that they are either too smart or too important to be held to the same standards as everyone else. The commissioners office gave the Saints plenty of warning, and the suspensions and fines happened because of crap that has happened since those warnings were given league wide. That level of sheer disregard for anyone else is plenty reason to dislike the Saints staff and owner.

    No - I'm a Cowboys fan. I have no problem with the Saints organization, how good they are now, etc. In fact, I like a lot of their players. But I HATE how America jumped on the bandwagon that year. I got so sick of hearing about Katrina because it doesn't matter at all. It doesn't have anything to do with the play on the field. The whole world wasn't pulling for Alabama to win this year because of the tornado (yes I realize the disaster was much smaller). People didn't all pull for the Giants after 9/11. It was just so stupid because none of those events have anything to do with who is the best team. Instead of talking FOOTBALL (what a novel concept), the announcers during the games and ESPN spent half the time talking about the damn storm.

  • I'm a Falcons fan... but Saints fans want everything to go their way. Look at how many major sporting events have been in New Orleans the past year. The city gets every benefit of the doubt but when something bad happends to one of their football teams its because everyone is out ot get them.

    Amplified because of the last few years with the Saints reaping the benefits of "Katrina Pity". People tend to turn on you when you act like a POS like Payton and Co have...even more when they have been sitting there feeling sorry for you the whole time you were doing the underhanded stuff.

    N.O is great at holding events thats why they host so many. Maybe we should hold some in B-Ham, oh wait nobody wants to go there. Do they even have a stadium to seat more than 20K?? Your city shouldn't have wasted its money on the iron industry and should have followed suit like ATL, maybe they would have something more than a triple A baseball team.
