    Plus, the state of Auburn's program wasn't much better than Miss St when Chiz took over.

    About the 4th year, the state of a program is what the coach himself has made of it. This will be a great judgement year for both. I give the edge to Chizik.

    What I'm saying is that you will never have the same success at State that you can have at Auburn. I was saying that while Bryant was great at Kentucky and Texas A&M, he would not have had the same amount of success there that he had at Bama.

    I agree and disagree at the same time. A great coach can change perception. Look at Miami before the 80's, FSU in the 70's, Wisconsin pre 90's, VaTech pre 90's, and on the reverse side, Notre Dame post early 90's.

    You can't pick and choose which coaches get credit for winnin a title and which don't.

    Take Les Miles for example. I'm sold on the guy. He's a great coach, but you could say that what Chizik has done at Auburn is much more impressive compared to the situation in which he arrived. Auburn's 2009 season was very impressive, IMO. 2010 happened. Can't debate it or punish the guy for having a couple of great players. If you take away the point margin in a few loses in 2011, Auburn exceeded expectations that year as well. Loss is a loss, not matter the score.

    This is the year that Chiz needs 9+ wins, IMO. He can't argue youth and a lack of depth this year, becaused that would be solely his fault. That could be tough for him, but I wouldn't be shocked if they got there either. He's exceeded win expectations every year so far.
