Why wouldn't the B1G want Cincinnati?

They have a good basketball program with a great history. They have a decent football program. Not sure about other sports like hockey. I assume their academics are ok. Not exactly a glamorous pick, but could they be one of the two teams that get the B1G to 16 when the new super conferences form?

IMO, the B1G has reached the point where there aren't many good programs left that bring new markets or footprints. Pickings are slim. I'm not saying it would happen, but it wouldn't surprise me if Cincy was one of the final 16 for the B1G. Personally, I think Boston College and Notre Dame would be the best two the B1G could finish with.

I do t think Cincinnati is AAU, which from what I hear is a big deal to them. I'd love to see them added basketball wise for SOS and a good interstate rival too.

They added Rutgers. I don't think the Big Ten cares about "good programs" anymore. Their main concern is TV sets. With that being the case, BC would seem to be an option.

Here's my preferred order if we take more schools, which I'd rather not do anyways. (Not accounting for how realistic it is that we could get any of these schools)
1. ND
2. Texas
3. UNC-Duke combo
4. Va Tech-Virginia combo
5. FSU-Miami combo
6. Georgia Tech
7. Syracuse
8. Pitt
9. Iowa St.

There are better schools to get - its about opening tv markets so Virginia and North Carolina (maybe Georgia) will be of interest before tapping a market you already have

I leave the VA and NC schools out of it because honestly they will be hotly contested for by the Big XII,B1G, and SEC.

Great point since also no one cares about Maryland or Rutgers in football..it's only about getting into the cable line-up..now who knows where we will be in 5-10 years with streaming & a-la-carte selection, but for now that's the way to go
