Will Dwight leaving ruin the Magic for years?

  • If they get what they are rumored to get in this trade they are going to be awful, and will be "building" with late 1st round pics. The sad part is they probably have just enough to be good enough to stay at the back end of the lottery, meaning they probably won't be able to draft another star

  • The proposed trade is being ripped by just about everyone, Orlando need to play hardball here because they are being forced to grab their ankles right now. The worst part is if they make the trade they are supposedly going to give Brook Lopez a huge contract.

Hey Trojans, LSU's 74 are better than your 75.

Yeah i mean if its really the best they can do I guess they have to. But it looks bad. This is why the NBA product is getting worse. The players have total control and soon there will be 3 or 4 teams with all the good players and the rest will be crap. That makes for a shite league

It better be so unbearable for him in the arena when he comes back next year he has to skip the game. Of course two boos will make him piss his pants. Sucks for Magic fans

So what? You should still want your management to get a better deal. They need to play hardball and get him to open up his list. Its only July, theres no rush

  • Yes I hope we can get a better deal, and I hope we low ball him by trading him to a team he did not want to play with like Houston, Cleveland or Dallas.

  • Yes if they take this trade. None of those picks will be good and the players are garbage.

I really think this is a ploy to force the Lakers to take a bad contract while taking Howard. Otherwise this move makes no sense.

You're kidding right? You do not deal him for this kind of shit. You have better offers out their in LA and Houston.

I heard the only hiccup was Bynum agreeing to sign an extension with Orlando. This deal might be Orlando's way of forcing LA's hand because I just can't believe they'd take this shitty of a deal. They might as well take Lopez,Humphries, picks and Brooks straight up from the Nets.

  • Some folks hating on Brook Lopez but he's a 7 footer who can average 22ppg. He has deficiencies obviously but dang

Anyways, Orlando won't be rebuilding with late first round picks. They will be awful for 2-3 seasons and get top 5 picks from their own selves those 2-3 years and then add elite role players hopefully with those late first round picks.

If I was them I'd suck really bad this next year and then take the highest ceiling guy available at their ~#3-4 pick like Steven Adams. That way they suck really bad again that next year and you get another top 3 guy and then you are back in it.

Orlando is actually a pretty great market and place to play. It's just the two #1 picks they've made were not only really good players (with Shaq being truly great) but their personalities were just unusually large as well. Most stars will be willing to stay in Orlando.

His lack of rebounding screams soft. He averaged less than 6 boards a game in 10-11. Thats terrible for a center playing 35 minutes a game. But hes a decent piece, just would like for them to get a little more.

  • At least Orlando still has a chance to get something for him. The Cavs were basically SOL, but were able to snag a couple extra draft picks from the heat in a sign and trade.

This will now be the third year removed from LeBron and they are just now looking like they could be around a .500 club, but that's only in part to hitting the jackpot with Kyrie Irving.

Brook Lopez deserves to be hated on, he might be the worst defensive player in the league and his rebound rate is embarrassingly low, now consider that Orlando want to give him more money than Minnesota gave Kevin Love, a guy who averaged 26ppg and 13rpg and can also shoot 3's. Not to mention Brook is coming off a season in which he played only 5 games.

Orlando will probably end up with a high draft pick next year but the 2013 draft is supposed to be very weak, it's going to be quite awhile before they are competitive again.

This is all assuming that the trade goes through.

I still think they will be good enough with Nelson, JJ, and Lopez to stay at the back end of the lottery at best. That will make it hard to get real difference makers. Maube I'm just so pissed I can't think about it with any rational thought

Then they need to get rid of them. Drafting lower than fifth is worthless. In the NBA you have to get egregious to get back to good.
