The proposed trade is being ripped by just about everyone, Orlando need to play hardball here because they are being forced to grab their ankles right now. The worst part is if they make the trade they are supposedly going to give Brook Lopez a huge contract.

Yeah i mean if its really the best they can do I guess they have to. But it looks bad. This is why the NBA product is getting worse. The players have total control and soon there will be 3 or 4 teams with all the good players and the rest will be crap. That makes for a shite league

Some folks hating on Brook Lopez but he's a 7 footer who can average 22ppg. He has deficiencies obviously but dang
Anyways, Orlando won't be rebuilding with late first round picks. They will be awful for 2-3 seasons and get top 5 picks from their own selves those 2-3 years and then add elite role players hopefully with those late first round picks.
If I was them I'd suck really bad this next year and then take the highest ceiling guy available at their ~#3-4 pick like Steven Adams. That way they suck really bad again that next year and you get another top 3 guy and then you are back in it.
Orlando is actually a pretty great market and place to play. It's just the two #1 picks they've made were not only really good players (with Shaq being truly great) but their personalities were just unusually large as well. Most stars will be willing to stay in Orlando.

Will Dwight leaving ruin the Magic for years?
