Come next August, will Ole Miss be ranked in the top 25 preseason poll? Coach Hugh Freeze has done a remarkable job both coaching us to a winning season with a bowl win over Pitt and in recruiting. We were 7-6 to finish the season with nail biters against Texas A&M, LSU and Vanderbilt.. all in which we had the lead in the 4th quarter but ended up blowing it. That's a team that had potential to go 9-3 this season in the SEC.. I know, I know we didn't I'm just saying we should have and we proved that we did have that kind of potential. With nearly everyone returning for not just this coming season but next as well.. we're bringing back a lot of experience and with the recruiting class we're expected to have.. does that put us in the top 25 preseason poll? IMO we start out ranked in the 20-25 range.. just wanting to get a little feedback on what other's outside the Ole Miss fan base has to say about this. TIA

The D is going to be on par talent wise with anyone in the SEC.
Ward RNK Gross Hooks Reed (As of right now) CJ Johnson Sawyer Snoop Brassell Gohlston Conner Elston Denzel NKemdichie DT Shack Cody Prewitt
A bunch of high 4 stars and 5 stars on that list. Most of those kids will play on Sundays and a few may be good enough to be drafted in the first round. That doesn’t even mention that we have legit shots at Lawson and Daniel to possibly put on that line as well.

solid lineup.
Lawson's Dad didn't mention OM in his latest interview as a possible visit. Not saying it won't happen , but according to him it was Clemson this weekend, probably UTenn and AU, and possibly UNC. He even mentioned USC as a long shot visit. I consider Clemson the biggest threat now.

Who is touting it? He simply stated thats who we beat. Pitt also played ND to 3 OTs (not that it means anything). OM would have beat PSU by 3 scores guy. With depth, we would have also beat A&M, LSU and Vandy this year (all teams with 9+ wins in the SEC).

He said "Coach Hugh Freeze has done a remarkable job both coaching us to a winning season with a bowl win over Pitt and in recruiting." He was certainly touting the Pitt win.
I don't care how you would have done against PSU. It has nothing to do with the statement at hand.
Regardless, if you think OM beats PSU by 3 scores at the end of the season (they may have at the beginning of the year, but PSU greatly improved), I can't say I agree. I don't think many non-OM fans would agree either. You beat Arkansas by 3 and lost at home to Vandy.
Since you apparently love the transitive property with your Pitt thing (using the transitive property is almost always a waste of time), Vandy lost to Northwestern by 10 and PSU beat Northwestern by 11.
EDIT: Scratch that beginning of the season thing. You would have beaten us probably, but not by 3 scores then either. You couldn't beat a horrendous UTEP team by 3 scores and barely beat an above average FCS team by 3 scores (22 points).

? We play Bama every year. We actually lost to them by 19 this year and beat them in the second half. Moral victory I know, but most def not by 40. Our O gives Bama fits. Its the same reason A&M is not a good matchup for them and why Oregon would have given them a hell of a game if not beat them.
