You guys get DB's. We get DL. Fair

I agree that you have the edge. I just don't like the "no question" part.

While I like it, I can see why you wouldn't. Bower is going to be a beast to be that athletic at that size... damn

I think this cements the nation's best secondary class for USC. Can anyone think of a school that could possibly get a better group? I like what FSU has done there, but think this Trojans group is better. Ohio State has two stud corners, but still give the nod to USC.

To me, Michigan has the best OL class, Auburn the best DL class (though USC's is very good, too).

What are some other good position groups that you guys can think of?

huge for AU to have a top 2 OL class last year, and the best DL class this year! The games are won and lost in the trenches.

  • If USC closes with Hargreaves or Willis, will it be the best DB class in modern recruiting history?

Don't get me wrong, I think Auburn's DL class is going to be great, but I'm just curious how you can say that Auburn will UNQUESTIONABLY have the best DL class. USC will have:

    Eddie Vanderdoes - 5* DT - 98 rating - #11 nationally Kenny Bigelow - 5* DT - 98 rating - #14 nationally Kylie Fitts - 4* DE - 94 rating - #82 nationally

Again, I agree that Auburn may have a better class... but to say that there's "no question" - that's just not true. I would take Vanderdoes over Adams for USC's 3-technique. I would take Fitts' technique and polish over Bower's athleticism.

Just because they have one additional player at this point doesn't make the class better if USC doesn't have the need for another.

Now if USC gets Jason Hatcher, who is only a 3-star on here, then Auburn will definitely have the edge. But Hatcher is pretty highly rated on other sites, the only reason he was bumped down on here is because he's 6'1".

Just to let you know... If we get Adams which we are firmly in the top two for him...

    Montravious Adams - 5*DT - 100 rating - #2 nationally

    Carl Lawson - 5*WDE - 98 rating - #24 nationally

    Dee Liner - 4*DT - 96 rating - #37 nationally

    Tashawn Bower - 4*SDE - 94 rating - #119 nationally

Auburn has the highest rated commit, but...

USC's top two commits are rated higher than Auburn's top two commits.

No, Adams is not an Auburn commit. If/when he commits to Auburn, then they will have the top DL class.

  • I realize that, just phrased it incorrectly. And yes, I agree that they will have the top DL class... but my point still stands that I don't see how there is "no question" about it.

USC will have 2 DL recruits rated higher than their top 2. That right there raises a question about it.

The key will be if Auburn gets Adams and which DE USC gets. Right now I think it is close.

I would say not as good as Notre Dames

  • LSU is in the conversation(though not #1 imo at any of the spots) at QB, WR(dependent on Brazil being classified as an athlete because it's becoming more and more likely he ends up at WR), DL and DB.

QB-Rettig and Jennings are rated kind of low here for now but they'll be 4* by the end.

WR-Diarse, Baker and likely the top JC in Leslie. If you put Brazil here then that's four 4* guys with 3 247 worthy(though since Leslie is a juco he has no chance).

DL-Micheal Patterson has tremendous upside and easily could be the best DE we take at the end of his time in BR. Lewis Neal is lowly rated but he is much better than an 85. Herron is a high potential kid. Add the likliehood of landing Tim Williams and the DE group is loaded. At DT, we have Lawson(4*) with Gilmore likley in August. If we can hold off UF for Pagano, it's a loaded group.

DB-White is listed as an athlete but he's a top 5 CB imo. Brazil is listed at CB(maybe athlete) but like I said, it's doubtful he plays there. Ricky Jefferson will rise considerably once he starts playing this year. The most slept on kid in LA even as a 4*. Add in the near lock in Rashard Robinson and it's a very good group. At S we only have Cutrer but he's a good one. If we can sneak Willis(I think we do but it's up in the air) then our DB class has to be an easy #2.

True. If Bryant sticks it is one of the best.
