With a weak QB class in this year's draft...

  • ...any chance A.J. McCarron might say 3 rings is enough and decide to enter?

  • He's a 3rd to 4th round pick right now. If he waits, he's a 1st.

  • Doubt seriously he leaves. Could use another year.

  • And next years draft class doesn't look great at QB either.

This is what run-based spread offenses have done. Honestly, next year's class will be even worse than this year's. No Barkley, no Wilson, no... Moxie McGloin... I would definitely stay an extra year.

    1st in line for unemployment?

Kid will never be a 1st rounder.

I have listened to the pre game of every Alabama game every week this year. Their draft expert who comes on EVERY week has said the same thing. I'll take him over you

Here's a guy who thinks he should be the number one pick THIS YEAR. But the Blue Board's got this, right? Some of you should stick to baseball IMO....

  • “It wouldn’t shock me if we’re talking for the 2014 draft A.J. McCarron as a potential top 20 overall draft pick because he’s got enough tools. I just I like the way he plays the game.”- Todd McShay

Look, I think if he plays his senior year and does really well, he would have a chance for a first round pick (especially with the slop that he will be competing with), but this year he is way down the list. He just doesn't have the elite tools to make him a top pick unless he shows up on the field (as in, looks like more than a game manager).

That link that you provided which had him going first overall is an absolute joke.

EDIT: And never use Todd McShay as an example ever again.

The only tool he lacks is the one where he is unleashed to throw it 50 times per game

I'm not saying he is a first rounder (see post above) but the guy has a big arm, good size (tall but could put on a few more pounds) and is a winner

    Not a lot lacking there

McElroy was a winner and he is now 3rd string behind the worst 1st and 2nd string in the NFL.

I would bet anyone on here $100 AJ does not go 1st round. Kid is a game manager with a solid arm. Nothing more.

Also solid sources you're finding this draft talks from.......

What elite tools is he lacking? Elite speed? OK. Who does have elite speed and how did that shape up? He has a very strong, accurate arm to go along with a 6'4" frame, and will stand in the pocket to deliver the pass. The negatives I've head on him are he is skinny (not really anymore) and he is a bit of a gunslinger. He's about to throw for 3,000 yards in a fun first offense where two RB's went over 1,000 yards and so did a WR. What that means is, they didn't need to throw but did because he was so good. His WR's corps are going to be the best in the SEC in not the entire country next season and he is going to kill it. Absent of a mental breakdown and If he comes back and stays healthy, he will be a 1st round pick. It's too long from now to do a sig bet but I would do one for a year.

  • He will have a monster year next year as well which will make a good case for him. The WR core is going to be sick.

When did he say this? I'd bet it was before the season, or at least very early in the season. McCarron doesn't go before the 3rd round. I'd predict 4th to 5th round. And for him to be a 1st round pick he'll have to be MUCH better than he has been.

Nope, on October 19 in an SI.com article

McShay is very respected for his opinion on the game and the fact that he believes so much in McCarron’s skill is a great endorsement for the ‘Bama thrower down the road. While McShay likes what he sees in McCarron, just how high does he believe the junior could be selected when he enters the NFL Draft?

McShay also said that UGA has more NFL ready talent than bama, and bama fans acted like that was ludacris and he shouldn't ever be cited as a credible resource ever again. Not saying you said that weed, but it is humorous to see how people use quotes from sources to benefit the debate at hand and then discredit that source later.
