This whole thread is absolutely ridiculous. The reality of it is, each state in the US of A brings something unique to the table, and gives us a diversity that no other country in the world can really rival. Think about it, we have everything from tropical, to desert, to forest, to mountain range, to wide open fields of grain.

To try and label any of our great states as "the worst" is completely asinine if you ask me. In fact it's down-right un-American.

That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it. Y'all go ahead and keep flaming if you like.

  • I use to travel for work... Ive never been to any of the Northwest states but Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Michigan, and Florida are all nice places... Alabama has a few nice places... I actually liked the few weeks I spent in Mobile. Anyone dogging the south has never been, Ive been up North and aside from Michigan(not Detriot) it isnt that nice nor are the people. New Jersey is just awful.

  • I am gonna do this one and ignore schools or affiliation
    1. Alabama - the poverty is depressing, houses sided in hub caps and license plates put it over the top for me and get me started on trying to get help if your not from there
    2. West Virginia- only 2 good things come from WV, Marine Mountie and tobacco
    3. Mississippi- easily could be number 1 for the same reasons but I have been to the top 2
    4. Maryland- this one is not the states fault but how can you have this many politicians in one area and not be a total shithole?
    5. Florida- insane humidity, bugs that have no natural enemies, Amazon of North America, and how can you love any state that has this many old cranky ass Yankees?

    Just missing the list
    Michigan
    Pennsylvania
    Indiana
    Iowa
    Wisconsin
    New York

For the record I am from Ohio but now reside in Illinois, I was in Ohio just this last weekend and I saw enough rednecks to rival the south, industry is leaving in waves, and the people look miserable but it isn't in the top 5....... Yet.

Top 5 states I've been to
    1. Texas, loved everything but Dallas, the people in Dallas suck donkey wieners
    2. Tennessee- just beautiful
    3. Oregon- see above
    4. California- see above, Cali could rival Texas but females with a southern accent beats "oh my god"
    5. Kentucky- the people are simple, but it is beautiful the women aren't that bright, beautiful, and love to party, and shit is cheap.

  • LOL at Maryland one of the few states like CA that has beaches, and skiing and outside of the inner city MD is the wealthiest state in the country if the number still hold true.

I promise you that Arkansas is better than Mississippi.

Probably true I rate places on

    1. job opps
    2. avg household inc
    3. Things to do. Do you have beaches? skiing? awesome parks? etc..
    4. resident intelligence.
    5. then plain bias. I know tons of WV's and they are universally dumb so I rate them high on worst states list.

  • To the person who said Kentucky isn't appealing..

Seriously? It's a gorgeous state especially the blue grass parkway. You've got the bourbon trail, Louisville, etc.

Hell, Mississippi is poor and has some desolate BFE areas, but Oxford is a great city. Casinos are cool as shit to go to for a day or two. The gulf coast area of MS is nice too. Not to mention the very northern part of the state is a VERY wealthy area.

It's like you guys choose to ignore the quality aspects of each state. I don't really like Ohio, but I wouldn't be unhappy in Columbus. Great football, good hockey, and a AAA team of MY baseball team. Cincy and Cleveland are decent major metro areas too. I don't enough about Akron and maybe it is boring and nothing to it but still. Remove your blinders and see the big picture.
