That would mean that they believe his buyout is worth potential probation/loss of schollies/bowl bans. The school will be held responsible for the coaching staffs transgressions whether they are there or not. Any Vol can tell them that.

There have been a lot of moving parts since the Miss State game. A lot of forces moving in different directions.
I don't know how the buyout clause is worded, but I don't think that the news is coming fast enough to get Auburn out of the buyout initially.

If they throw Chizik under the bus just to get out of paying him then they will never be able to hire a decent coach again. As stupid as they are down there they can't be that bad. Not to mention several years of probation would cost them more than trying to weasel out of paying him.
