Xbox Live: Read Option

  • Hey friends, I have no trouble at all with the computer. Can shut them down and score at will but have recently started an online dynasty.

    I struggle big time against users because I'm used to CPU games.

    I play an opponent tomorrow in my online dynasty who is big on the read option. I have no idea how to stop it because the computer doesn't run it effectively. I appreciate all suggestions.

  • Blitz like a mo fo. I run the read option offense and the only way my buddy's can stop me is blitz in nickel.

  • Bring outside blitzes. The way to counter it is to have 2 players (DE + LB) so that no matter what the QB does he is wrong because you have a defender for each player. Hope you have good DTs because this can lead yo you being exposed up the middle or on the side you don't blitz.

    What about sliders? Conservative on QB contain?

    Word on the street is that he mostly runs QB read-option, with a lot of curls in the passing game... I've seen first hand how effective curls can be when run well. In this game, not many playcalls shutdown the curl.

    You want to press the DB's for stopping the curl route

    Doesn't work every single time but it does the trick more often than not

    2-man Press, IMO. Spy the QB option with the LB.

    Also, why aren't you on PS3?

    On 360 bc I bought it when it debuted, strictly because of Halo which I no longer play... Planning ahead at its finest.

    Was a freshmen in college at the time and haven't found a reason to scrap it in favor of PS3.

    FWIW, man coverage pressing the DBs does nothing on the curl route when you play a person who actually knows how to throw a timing route. I've tried that.

    Of course, maybe its just the fact that we all started as 3* prestige teams so our players suck. With a good team that might work.
