I always pick it up at running stores, but I am sure they have it at like a Dick's Sports or something.

It basically works like a deodorant stick. It rolls on pretty smooth. Have never seen a powder.

Excuse the ignorance, but how do you check a cornfield?

damn dude. i thought you were joking at first. you know when you sweat during the day, your armpits smell if you dont use deodorant, same w/ your ballls. its not a big deal however if nobody gets close enough to smell pits/balls.

i walk through the field making sure that it is all maturing properly and that the detasselers are pulling enough of the tassels out.

Other than the heat, that must be a pretty peaceful job

tbh, I have always wondered what the f*** you guys were doing in the field.

then we make the crews go back into the field the next day. each field must meet a certain % before it is cleared and there is just a certain time period which depends from field to field that is has to be done.

haha, sorry detasseling is the first job for almost every 12 year old around here so I always assume everyone knows what that is. The tassel is the part that has the pollen and in seed corn there is male and female corn, the female pollen isn't supposed to be released so companies run machines over it to remove most of the tassels then armies of 12 year olds walk through the field and pull the tassels out of the female rows.

That is a tassel in the pic and they have to be pulled before they are out like that. 2nd pic is just a detasseler doing her job haha.
